Not sure that’s a fair comparison if you only flew over the canyon and damI flew over the canyon and the dam but the national park at Flagstaff on foot was way better.

We did land at the canyon, wasn’t just a view from a plane window. .Not sure that’s a fair comparison if you only flew over the canyon and dam
Ha. I do have photos in an album, old school. These days Vegas seems a lot more clean and family orientated with the types of hotels they’re building, from what I’ve been told. In 1990 it was dirtier, sleazier and lots of dodgy people around.Pictures![]()
Judging by some of the posters on here, it hasn't changed muchHa. I do have photos in an album, old school. Absolutely love the theme parks………mostly for the roller coasters. There’s nothing in the UK (yet) that remotely compares (although things are improving, the US parks have far more top rides). Food at (inside and just outside) the parks is alright - vast array of choices. Planning to go back again next year to go to Epic.Quite.
The absolute anathema to me.
Theme parks or Vegas.
I don’t understand the appeal.
Constant noise. Other people. Excess. Expense. Faff. Queues. Bad food. Ugh.
This. Just give the US a swerve while that erratic orange buffoon gets to call the shots. Huge number of places in the world more deserving of your holiday dollar600 students have had their visa revoked for offenses such as a speeding ticket; some have been arrested and sent to detention centers. Anyone thinking of coming to the US for a holiday should think again. Indeed there really needs to be a boycott.
I was planning to go with the family to Universal in October, my son is super excited about Nintendo World. But on closer inspection, the 2025 14 day park ticket only allows 1 day access to Epic. It seems from what I've read it all to do with crowd controls. I'm not going all that way to only get 1 day in Epic, I'm not sure you could do it all in a day in any case. So will probably go next April holidays, the 2026 ticket is advertised as 14 day access to all parks.Absolutely love the theme parks………mostly for the roller coasters. Only been to Vegas once, enjoyed that too but wouldn’t want to stay more than a few days as it’s a bit of an assault on the senses. Great fun though. Grand Canyon, Red Rock Canyon and the Hoover Dam all well worth a visit from there too.
I think anyone going to the States these days is asking for trouble. If you end up innocently being jailed, well, you’re not innocent are you - because you’ve been warned and should be aware of the many instances people have been wrongly accused and jailed for weeks on end. Nah, America does not deserve your money and there’s plenty other places as said.600 students have had their visa revoked for offenses such as a speeding ticket; some have been arrested and sent to detention centers. It's really not that great anymore, over priced and the nickle and diming is insaneI think Las Vegas has to be seen for 2/3 days maximum. Not for the for the gambling but just to see what a nutcase town it actually is in the middle of a desert with the mad cap themed hotels. I’ve done it twice, but only part of a longer fly drive trip but couldn’t stay there for more than two nights.

I think tourism will slump to the US, similar to us after Brexit.
Toxic nationalism isn't appealing
Its sad because half the country does have a brain

High table minimums most places and a reduction of reasonable pricing has made it insanely expensive.
Used to go once or twice a year, first time excluding covid I won't be heading over this year.
20 years ago my parents used to visit Vegas during their road trips, hotels and meals out were incredibly cheap, possibly subsidised as they wanted the numbers in for gambling. Since then it’s become an expensive destination in its own right eg all the PL footballers who pose there in May and June.
There might be a few people put off , but most people don't / won't care who is in chargeI think tourism will slump to the US, similar to us after Brexit.

I mean that’s what I’d say if I was in an International OCGThis bloke from Derbyshire is worried that his tattoo showing the time of his daughter’s birth is being used by ICE to link him to Venezuelan gangs, especially when he has a holiday in Miami, in August.

British man's tattoo wrongly linked to Venezuelan gang in US government document
A tattoo belonging to a man from Derbyshire has appeared in a US government document used to identify members of Tren de Aragua, a notorious Venezuelan gang, despite the man having no connection to the group.www.bbc.co.uk
