Sorry but Fabian really needs to work on this. His pre and post match interviews are bloody awful monotone one word answers offers nothing. Needs more fire in the belly a serious work in progress imo
He doesn't NEED to do anything. He can answer questions in whatever facking way he likes!

A bit like how the team is playing at the moment

He's having to answer the same old ridiculous questions for a media interview I'm sure he'd rather not have to deal with, having just lost an important and intense fixture at the end of a very disappointing week.

That is not him talking to the players. He won't be telling them to go home and watch Match of the Day to find out what he thinks about their performances.

Where it matters is what we don't see - behind the closed door of the dressing room. He may be shit at that, or he may be brilliant or, perhaps, somewhere in between. We have no real way of knowing.

Whilst I'd certainly find it more interesting to have a witty raconteur delivering media interviews, it's neither here nor there.

Yeah football isn't a Steven Spielberg movie where whatever happens everyone ends up fine and the viewer can be sentimental and happy.

Its a bit more complex than that and a fair bit of analysis is required if you want to stay competitive. You can't just put Gully on a spaceship and suddenly everyone is happy. Need to find ways to improve our chances of winning games.

What do you want him to say? "Dunno what went wrong and don't wanna know it either!"

Were they really? Which one is your favorite? Here's some typical post-match De Zerbi interviews. Super powerful and entertaining.

Not that it matters. Unless you throw someone under the bus, no one is really going to give a shit what you say in these situations.

I liked the one where he talked about big balls, but I accept my memory might be faulty....

Yes, people remember that because its the single most edgy someone has said in family friendly Brighton & Hove Albio in the last 20 years or something.

The average De Zerbi press conference and interview was no "funnier" than Hurz or Potter or anyone else though. Boring as shite like 99% of these forced press meetings.

We know what the process is. It's been in place a long time...since before FH got here.
He is a young man who has rather surprisingly been given a pretty big job in the biggest league in the world.
We have allowed him a season to cut his teeth..to learn...to experiment...to make mistakes. From August the honeymoon is over. Time to be a big boy and show your teeth. Next season he will be under a lot of pressure. It will define his future.
This season is practically over and he’s still making a pillock of himself. If anyone thought Glasner was worried yesterday by the tactical genius of Hurzeler they need help.
This week his subs have been totally ineffective done nothing but make us lose our shape and nullify any attacking threat, worst thing is we were in both games with plenty of time to go. As for keep trusting Wieffer he wouldn’t be on my bench for now the guy struggles with the very basics a massive liability yet on he goes to make yet another f*** up.
I don’t share your confidence he will have it all figured out for next season.

the pre and post match press conferences and interviews are a complete waste of everyones time, all they are is to fill up air time. With two game on avarage every 7-10 days there at least 4 pressers, and 2-4 interviews every 10 days. All the questions are the same every week, no manager in his right mind is going to give anything meaningful away, and the only "news" would be about injuries, and even then most of the time its nothing new that we dont already know, and again, managers arent going to give out anything that may be useful to the next opponent
Interviewing players and managers when they have literally just finished playing-ofttimes while still on the pitch is crazy. Players asked daft questions and asked to analyse in minute detail events that happen in micro seconds and mainly done on instinct. most truthful answer i ever heard was a player when asked to talk us through the goal- simply said i dont know much about it, someone crossed the ball i didnt know who, i just saw it coming towards me , i kicked at it and luckily it went in

The only reason they do them is contractual, and all of them would rather be doing something useful instead. There is zero point in any of it

The only Brighton press conferences I can remember off the top of my head are 1, The Ceiling one 2 The History Lesson one and 3 RDZs lunacy after Rome.

It's probably best he keeps it dull.

These are an obligation placed on the Manager and I don’t think anyone should take anything away from them…

Within 7 days, we have played 3 matches, all of which we have lost.

This means at an absoloute minimum he has answered journo’s at 6 separate press conferences with little/no time to change anything in between.

The absolute best he can hope for is that people call the press conferences boring and have no reason to talk about them… if people are talking about them then rarely is that a good thing. It typically means he’s going to have said something silly!

He’s saying as little as possible to fulfil his requirements and moving on without causing a stir. I’d imaging the club are very happy with this approach and have provided some level of training/guidance to this effect.

I very much hope this continues and he diverts his efforts to improving the squad.

He’s 32 years old, trying to navigate his first season leading a team in the worlds biggest football league and talking in a second language.

We’ve all seen him on the touchline and I imagine he’s a very different character around the team and back room staff.

'Joe Bloggs has scored 10 goals in last 4 games, how important is he to the team ?'

'How disappointed are you with today's 7-0 defeat ?'
