And their manager is so much better than ours too.

Oh hang on, they're behind us. That doesn't fit the narrative.
Not for long I wouldn’t think if they win their game in hand, they’ll be one point behind us. I currently can see us losing to Leicester too, we look totally devoid of ideas. Hardly having a shot on target when you have a 1 or 2 man advantage and are losing is bad enough but playing the ball backwards and sideways and then playing a shit final ball every time an opening appears is the sign of a team lacking fight and guile.

Nah. We won't lose to Leicester, surely not. Think we'll do OK in next 3 it's the Newcastle and Liverpool games where we'll struggle to get anything from. Its the Villa and today's loss that's really done for us. The injury to Rutter is a massive blow and Webby's injury has buggered our defensive form.

No Van Hecke and Dunk is not what he was. Vardy double coming up, with just the two shots of course

I get the impression we are now falling off a cliff as we can’t open teams up either. A defeat against Leicester would not be a surprise to me If they play the low block and hit us on the break. Vardy is probably quicker than any of our defenders

Injuries haven't helped but, the summer spend was as much about bringing in players to cover injuries (squad depth) as much as making them better to sell at profit. Minteh OK , Georginio good and Gomez not bad but the rest, not good enough.
I don’t think many squads would’ve stood up to the injuries we’ve had and still have.

Just in the last 3 weeks we’ve had seemingly season-ending injuries to Lamptey, Georginio and Webster. That’s on top a season that’s seen Igor, Ferdi, and Milner missing for the majority, as well as lengthy absences at various times for players like O’Riley, Veltman, Estupinan, Pedro and Dunk. It’s been unbelievable.

Sussex but not by the sea
Some perspective needed though. Bart had no chance with either goal and apart from those how many saves did he have to make? Palace were no better than us today.

The most worrying thing from today was that we got worse after the subs. That’s not all on the manager (Mitoma & Gomez weren’t tactical, I have a horrible feeling they were both injury related…) but some of it is. Jack was having a bad game but replacing him with another ‘not a RB’ was pointless IMO. Wieffer then proceeded to be the worst of the lot. O’Rilly was having a decent game too.

Palace had 3 shots on target and one of those needed a deflection to go in. They're nothing special.

It seems Bart has no chance with every goal we concede, which is good as he’s currently saving f*** all

What’s worrying is that over the course of this season we just never play well ever. Baring spells of 20 minutes we are more often awful than good. I don’t remember a convincing win, it’s constantly just trying to grind something out of games. Chris Hughton could do that with this squad. De Zerbi with these players would have done far better imo.
I felt we’d really started to click in that 7 match run. That’s the most disappointing thing about it. International break and losing another 3 players for the run in has really f***ed us up.
