What happened to not over-ruling original decision unless blatantly wrong?

I am puzzled though. His arm was in a 'natural position'. So - given our penalty shout was ruled out because the defender's arm was in a 'natural position', what's the difference? I thought it was only if it hit the scorer's arm it was ruled out?
Nope. If it's in the build up to a goal.

That was my thought. Maybe 'natural position' only applies to penalty appeals?

Yes. But why would VAR want to let the facts (or common sense) get in the way? There is GLORY for them if they can just be seen to be important and relevant to the result.

I don't think that's written in the laws though.

So - Attwell must have decided that it was deliberate?

If Mitoma was defending his area, would that have been a penalty? Where is his arm supposed to go?

It's like a hot potato.
It goes to VAR, they see what the ref sees, so why pass back to the ref???
