Reluctant to say, and I stayed to the end, I’d lumped on before the game at 13/1 for us to lose on penalties. Once it got to that point there was no other outcome, but I did it almost to ensure it didn’t happen. I’m crap at betting. It was a bet I would have been delighted to lose.
Wish I did, said to my group before the game we'd go out on pens 🙄

Likewise. If I’d stopped to think more logically about it ahead of the penalty shoot-out; namely Forest’s recent record in them, our comparative youth/inexperience, and Sels being the more imposing presence between the sticks, I might’ve felt less positive.

Think the fact they were being taken in front of the north possibly also gave me misplaced hope.
And also we got to go first. Which means we must have won both coin tosses.

#Cardiff v Brizzle City twenty odd years ago was successful Little Leon with the winner 😜
Or did you mean losing penalty shootout s ?
And in 1991 we also reached the PO Final.

I distinctly remember that. :ascarf:

They are a team that 4 seasons ago were in the Championship battling relegation to league 1. You dont think that they find being in a cup semi at Wembley, and in the Champs league next season anything other than insanely romantic, exciting, and beautiful? Let's not become that arrogant bellend fan set who think we have the right to laud it over others approach to winning football matches.
I'm sure their fans are very happy with their success. I couldn't care less how they feel. I'm sure Palace fans are very happy with being at Wembley too. Am I a bell-end for not sharing their joy too?

There may be success, but there's no romance in swapping Brian Clough's approach for Don Revie's and I'd guess that fans hoping his team could triumph by killing the game and winning a penalty shoot out days before the kick off would have made Clough sick up in his mouth.

Sorry everyone, my Terrace order number was 666 & as Jack was walking to the spot I shouted 'Go on Jack'.
I didn't think we'd win & the guy behind me clearly didn't as he said, 'Where's Solly when you need him'. I thought that was mean!

It looked like our players thought it was over when it got to penalties
Have we ever won a penalty shoot out ?

No confidence at all, due to Bart’s Shilton-esq penalty record. Saved 1 in 27 I believe it is now.

Still annoyed we didn’t bring Steele on for pens against Man Utd in the 2023 semi.

On top of the world

We had the advantages of going first, being in front of the North, plus Forest missing one to give us a chance, but it still wasn't enough.

No surprise that it went the way it did. Our body language looked like we knew we'd lost as soon as it went to pens. I even half expected JP to miss😬

And the fact they signed 234 players and broke ffp rules , nothing romantic for me

Word.

Forest's anti football and financial cheating is about as romantic as a dose off a brass.

If it's them v Palace in the final are they both going to stand around waiting for the other to attack with the ball lying dormant in the middle of the pitch?

Could've been a win if we'd scored all 5,

However.

Statistically right now with Bart in goal for Albion, if you get pen on target you'll score 💯 of time.

We'd need multiple miss the targets completely if their keeper saves some, because ours doesn't!
