Hi ,We are about to sell up ,and wondered if any of you have recommendations for good agents in the Eastbourne ,Polegate, Hailsham area, and who to avoid , and if you know what % they charged, would be much obliged , cheers

We sold our Langney property last year with Brook Gamble who were excellent. Our agent was Steve Youldon - Piercy who had some great advice and we ended up selling to the first people who viewed. His brother is John Piercy who used to play for the Albion. The commission rate for sole agency terms would be 1% plus VAT, of the sale price.

I found a great deal in Eastbourne unfortunately haven’t got the £600k to buy it, yet with some work it would return £400k profit after expenses.

I am not in the Eastbourne area, but all the agents in my area charge 1% + VAT. However, the two agents that I negotiated with would take the deal at 0.8% + VAT.

Town Property just won “best estate agents in the country “ so may be worth a look. Used them about 7 years ago & they were great but don’t have any idea what their % charge is nowadays

Right here, right now
Another vote for Move Sussex in Polegate - also Town Property highly recommended.

can never understand why anyone uses an estate agent all as useless and unqualified as one another - do it yourself and save thousands literally, you can place an ad on the main websites that virtually everyone uses and weed out the timewasters far easier whereas estate agents will send anyone around if they sniff the slightest whiff of a sale

That might suit us but I had thought only agents could access Rightmove? Could you post details (a link, perhaps) of how to do that. Thanks.

Good luck getting your property on Rightmove and Zoopla then. You could always use Purple Bricks but I'd suggest reading the reviews first.

I'm no fan of estate agents but a good one is worth their weight in gold.

I am the agent - lot cheaper. Rightmove and Zoopla will accept them but depends where you are as you can make e.g. your ownfor sale sign and errect in front garden

Is this true I don’t think anyone can post a property on zoopla/rightmove

I used Town Property last year, i would highly recommend them
Very professional, they got us 20 viewings within two weeks, and accepted an offer using 'offers over' option, on the 15th day.
They were pro-active and communicated well

My daughter has had a very different experience with town. They did get her an offer on her flat. But it was well below the asking price. Town out absolutely no effort in to selling the property. Sem like they have too many properties on their books to be able to market them properly.

Private sellers can not use Rightmove and this is where 90% of agents enquiries from
