They've already signed an outstanding young, left footed centre back. Their signings have been mostly excellent. Anderson, Guehi, Eze, Olise, Wharton, Munoz etc etc.
Under Glasner they're a totally different team and I'd fancy at least one of their boy wonders to stay. We need a very good summer with no major injuries to keep up with them.View attachment 183007
Depressing.
What’s been nice for the summer is the majority of our star players all but ruling themselves out of a transfer in the summer. The opposite is true of Palace.

Top Albion talent who had a high stock at the end of our European qualifying season but have been injured, out of form or too raw include:

Enciso
March
Mitoma
Ferguson
Estupinan

If they all return to form and we add another 5 good players, Palace will be nowhere near. They are not going to keep the likes of Elise etc.

That's a big if.

I have total confidence the we will get around 5 quality players to add to the squad.

The big ‘if’ is the others returning to fitness and form and the 5 new players settling in. We can’t afford any more Dahouds.

They also signed Franca for around £20m. He's still only 20 but so far the jury is very much out.
Albion's signings have been mostly excellent too - unless you're very much half empty - and their model is not that different to ours (and where's their new stand ha ha ? ) . . They will be selling this summer.

I have no idea what is going to happen, but after following the Albion for most of my life I still can't read paragraphs in the press like this without a sense of awe and the impulse to pinch myself "McKenna may only be a rookie in terms of first-team management, but he's already on the watchlists of the likes of Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester United".
Agent talk !

The people who wanted RDZ out are the same ones frothing at the mouth for Potter to come back! It makes me feel very validated in my defence of Roberto
This is utter shit, and I'm not the first to point this out.

No way am I Potter in. Potter is yesterday's man, said some irritating things about the club when we were VERY patient with his long winless streaks and tedious inability to do anything with the ball in the final third.

But in the end was quite sick of RDZ's constant grizzling and inability to stave off our slide into mediocrity. Yes he had injuries, but that shouldn't have stopped him tweaking his system to cope with lesser players. Or maybe he was too stroppy to give a toss by then, believing the hype around himself. That would be even worse.

I want someone I've never heard of that shows Bloom's magic algorithm is still in play.

I don't want to name specific people but what I meant was that some of the most militant anti RDZ people, the ones who disliked him personally, are also some of the most pro Potter people. My comment was also more about the personality side of things rather than their actual managerial abilities. It's my fault for not clarifying that better.

Exactly, as much as I liked him, he simply did not learn his lesson after West Ham showed the way at The Amex. Villa then did similar, so did Luton and even Bournemouth, by which time he seemed to have lost heart.

So some people who like Potter don't like RDZ?

I suppose so, but that's not remotely the same thing as what you initially wrote and certainly represents a tiny minority of our fanbase. Such a small section in fact that I don't see why you mentioned it in the first place.

Most people I know absolutely don't want Potter back and were actually relieved that RDZ finally went, given the circumstances. The only matter up for debate in my circles are the degrees of reluctance to see him go.

Exactly the same in my circles too. Quite a few have said they won't go to matches if Potter returns, which is quite a statement as almost all of them having been going since the 80s/90s.

Although if Dahoud went to Stuttgart with a rumoured €9m commitment to buy...

I’m beginning to not care.

But - when do we think things should be done by? I got the impression from RDZ’s departure there was a done deal just waiting to happen. I guess there wasn’t.

So when do we need a manger by? Next week? Before the Euros? Before we go to Japan?
