I don’t think it’s that much more than ours. I remember looking at a wage table I think we had the 14th highest and they had the 12th highest.

Both Models work well as long as you can stay in the Premier League..
We have always been of the opinion that relegation would ruin them, and our model is superior because it's sustainable.
However with the gradual erosion of competition at the top of the championship, due to parachute payments.
It's highly likely that the vast majority of established Premier league squads, would come back up within 2 seasons.
It is becoming increasingly sensible to hold on to your better players.

They won’t be holding on to them if they down tools like Cucurella, Caicedo and Trossard. Difference being that Palace don’t seem to sell the club to players by telling them they’ll be allowed to go if the right offer comes in and putting the idea in their heads that they are happy to be a stepping stone for players. Neither have I heard any of their managers suggest that some of their players deserve to play for a bigger club!

Weird reply. I said that if he comes to us it would prove that he has no problem jumping ship at the drop of a hat which is a fact. The delay in appointing him would also show that he was very likely holding out for United or Chelsea. No bollocks involved.

They've already signed an outstanding young, left footed centre back. Their signings have been mostly excellent. Anderson, Guehi, Eze, Olise, Wharton, Munoz etc etc.
Under Glasner they're a totally different team and I'd fancy at least one of their boy wonders to stay. We need a very good summer with no major injuries to keep up with them.
Depressing.

In fairness, they always end seasons strongly. They did under Roy last year. I do think they have a decent manager in Glasner and they will deffo be top half. Perhaps taking our place in the top 10. Eze and Olise are pretty injury prone and without them, they struggle (as any team would).
The higher they finish, the more chance the vultures will start circling for their manager and key players. It's the natural pecking order as we have found out.
