Just read this on X, this is a real set back for Liam. He was backed heavily however this seems quite harsh.

Based on what? He did a good job at Derby but understandably was replaced by a more experienced manager. And then also did a good job at Hull turning them around and getting them to within reach of the playoffs.

Short sighted decision imo. He was one of the three nominees for Championship manager of the season because of his work, not the money invested by the owners. Before he turned up there, they weren't exactly setting the world aflame.

He did struggle to put a winning run together, I often used to listen out to see how he was doing and the results were very frustrating.

He was only ever interim manager at Derby, his record there was pretty good. 7 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats. As soon as Derby appointed a permanent manager he left the club. He couldn’t have done much better really.

However, it has become evident that our visions for the future are not aligned....
Very strange comment as I would have thought that promotion was the vision of both the chairman and manager.
Just shows how good TB is, we missed out via play offs, and CH retained no parting of ways and promotion followed.
Surely Hull should have retained Liam for now and gone again next season with the same group with a few minor tweaks.
