It was unlikely as soon as Mitoma got injured. Now it’s impossible - probably have to win 6 of the remaining 7, which we have never done in premier league history.
If I was to guess right now - Newcastle 6th, Chelsea 7th, Man U 8th, West Ham 9th, bournemouth 10th, wolves 11th, brighton 12th.

It's unbelievable how we're able to drag every manager down to our 'happy place'.

At the start of the season we had all of our wide players, the long term absence of March and Mitoma in in particular have meant that we have become incapable of providing a threat in behind.
Even Arsenal played the low block against us yesterday, with the same resulting lack of goals for us as usual.
To play against the low block you have to play the percentages and drill a LOT of balls across the area between the six yard line and the penalty spot. Lofted balls are too easy to deal with, and trying to play through the middle of two compact lines requires more accuracy than we currently have.

And to think, pre-season @Not Andy Naylor hosted an excellent Q&A at Exeter Street Hall where the audience was debating whether we should really be gunning for a Champions League position.

Arsenal played both the low block and the high press. They were one of the fittest teams I’ve seen at the Amex (and I don’t mean looks!)
Our fitness levels are maybe not there. Poor Pascal is never going to get box to box that fast, but others could. Perhaps then our transition play might improve.

That away game in Rome combined with the injuries and cup exit around that time seem to have completely deflated the manager and team and aside from a bit of pride restoring against Rome At the Amex we have largely looked like a side limping out the remainder of the season (which now can’t come soon enough).
Nothing to be too despondent about though and am already hugely excited for the summer and rebuilding for another bash at qualifying for Europe next season
In 2 weeks time you'll be writing:-
'if we finish with 45 points and above palace I'd be delighted'.
I think the completely deflated manager led to the Rome performance and cup exit.

I would put Rome down to RDZ experience as we were set up way too open for an away game in Europe and De Rossi showed us how to do it on the return leg.
I think RDZ has been deflated as has been largely patching up a side since Xmas which must be frustrating for a manager. Look at Arsenal last night they have one Ben White backup on the injury list which when you compare to what we have been wrestling with for months shows the difference.

It’s not a huge injury list at the moment though. It just has two key players on it: Solly March and Kauro Mitoma.
Of the others on the list, Milner is a back up player as is Hinshelwood. Ferguson has only just joined the list and Billy Gilmour will be back soon.
But we really have suffered, and i didn’t realise how much until I saw this.

Has the relaxed revolving door policy finally bit us on the arse? I haven’t seen a team out there fighting for each other for weeks. Individuals trying to hit the headlines with a wonder shot when better options on the pitch have been available I see plenty of those.
We have become sloppy the manager wants a bigger club, players want to play for a bigger club no wonder we are suffering.
The club got complacent thinking we had enough to cruise through another season. To be fair to RDZ he kept telling them they didn’t.

2 important things to end the season positively, beat the shit out of Chelsea and Villa, even if means cheating and violence.
