Roberto gave the kind of press conference today he should have been giving for months. Someone’s obviously given him some guidance
Doesn’t strike me as the type to listen to much guidance. It’s hard to imagine he’s being told anything now from a PR point of view that he wasn’t before. I wonder if the reports from usually well-informed sources that he’s not a contender for Liverpool have been a minor reminder that it’s best not to **** on your own doorstep unless you’re sure you’re moving.

RDZ isn’t questioning the clubs ambition he’s changing what the club think is possible with what he’s achieved since he’s been here.

PB has repeatedly said that RDZ has come in and made them question and think about what they wanted for the club. He’s made them rethink the plan, why just settle for competing for the top 10. Now we’ve got the article about our profits including lines about further significant investment in the playing side and the aim of becoming a club regularly competing for European places and silverware.
Absolutely this. And don't forget that we're potentially (hopefully) on the verge of a new financial age in the Premier League. There's more money sloshing around than ever but at the same time it's not going to be acceptable to spend beyond your means going forward. We could find ourselves ahead of the other 14 (and potentially a few others).

Off the back of the financial results and a bit of perspective/harping back to the past I’m feeling more irked with RDZ.

I get personal ambition but if I were Tony and I’d put in £400m plus into the club, built a stadium, built a training ground, built a culture and moved us from league 1 strugglers to Europa competitors I’d be quite pissed of by some upstart questioning my ambition so publicly.

For this reason I’d be slightly less pissed off if RDZ left now.
I understand your feeling.
However, maybe when Roberto joined, both TB and PB told him to aim high, to push them, to be demanding...so long as the purpose was always to move the squad and results forward.
RDZ's English is not very nuanced, but maybe he's acting in the way he was asked to 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️.
I dunno, just a thought 🤔.

Talksport said this morning that RDZ is Bayern Munich's top target now.
Not sure he would like to learn another language after slowly getting to grips with English.
The German 'expert' also added that there would be some concern at BM board level about the pitch side antics, and abrasive manner, which is universally accepted as not part of the BM model.

Seems to be a foreign coach trait this airing the dirty laundry in public.
Can't he just keep quiet and let it all happen behind closed doors ?
Could he end up as Poyet 2 ?
I think Tony will only put up with so much and making all this public could be a breach of contract.
Getting irritating.
Totally agree, I’m bored with the whole thing now.

Here is the big secret that seems to have been missed.

Because Tony Bloom is a genius and can keep his gob shut, even to the point of keeping the volatile (but lovely) manager in the dark.....

We are cash rich.

Lots of clubs are now under FFP scrutiny.

They will have to sell in the summer.

We can buy.

Do the FAHCKIN maths.

"RDZ announces he is full steam ahead for next season, up another level with a massive transfer war chest"

Up go the prices and we get rinsed.

If I have to explain this a second time, so help me, I will SWING for someone.

And.....exhale.

Thank you for restoring my faith in people still using 'bored with' instead of 'bored of'. In gratitude here's the song that took several years to limp in to existence, was offered to Redwood (soon to be Three Dog Night) then reclaimed to feature one of Carl Wilson's greatest vocals and described by Brian Wilson as perhaps his finest song.

Ok so he´s saying the exact opposite he said less than week ago. Honest Roberto. I guess he´ll turn more and more cuddly as we ambitiously lose our way to 12th place because no one will want him then. Finally had enough of him last week and done with him making sure he always get the spot light. Looking forward to his replacement in May

He moans endlessly in public about a lack of players due to injuries and the players who left almost a year ago, even though we've had replacements. Why does he think he has to whine like this for months on end, either he feels a need to make excuses and explain the reasons for his inability to manage the team to the level of his ambition, or he expects the club to sack him, saving his next club from paying 10mils? He is rather naïve for someone in a position of middle management.

I still think on balance he'll do another year. I don't find his comments objectionable at all, I share his frustration that the constant overachievement can't be sustained without more quality being brought in

This, the only thing he is really doing wrong is talking about it in press conferences.

What you get with a manager who wears his heart on his sleeve I guess.

He is paid to ultimately win football matches he’s failing at that at the moment two wins in how many league games? We have injuries this season so have many other clubs, Is he the genius everyone is so desperate to keep? I’ve said before middling clubs getting into Europe isn’t a new thing or the miracle he is portraying we had a fantastic squad last season with a World Cup winning midfielder in the ranks.
The groaning has coincided with the not winning it’s everyone else’s fault.
He’s a baby at PL level and hasn’t earned the right to demand from any chairman just yet.
I hope he gets his head down and becomes the manager here he could be a great one.

Yeah we are in a bit of a dip, it happens in football., he has shown enough promise for me to give him time and a little patience.

Fwiw I am not 'desperate' to keep him, nor am I proclaim him a 'genius' but I do hope we keep him, if not I am excited to see who is next on Tony and Paul's list

He’d be better railing at the rigged structure of modern football rather than a club that’s run the way the rest should be. It’s tiresome and would be better aired in private, not least to preserve his relationship with the fans. Likewise though I’m not too bothered, more or less any decent manager would be the same and up sticks for a super-rich club given half a chance. If he stays, that’ll be great. If he goes, hopefully it’ll be abroad and his behaviour has made it easier to accept.
