Is he a bit thick? I have no doubt at all that he was told the project when he arrived and if he thinks he can bully something else through by blackmail he doesn’t know TB or maybe he’s just stalling and has mentally cleared his locker and will be gone come season’s end?

Personally, I am pretty relaxed about whether he goes or stays.
Yes, he's ‘done good’, but if he wants to go so be it. T.B.’s modus operandi is not to stand in anyone’s way, provided he gets the terms for leaving satisfied.
I have faith in the club finding a suitable successor and maybe someone who doesn’t play ‘cox and box’ with the goalkeepers and can sort out the defence.

If he continues in the vein he’s been in recently I kind of hope TB shows him the door.

He’s turning away from us and he’s not been seen in Donatello’s tucking into a 9 quid fixed price 3 course meal in months.
We’ve offered him everything. The Fans, the passion, quality Italian cuisine..
Potter can’t keep away. I’ve seen him down on the beach keeping a low profile dressed up as Superman. - I say bring him back.
If this is how RDZ is repaying our loyalty, I think he needs a history lesson on our club.

I think he’ll go, if he wants to take a step up now is the time to do it with some big names looking for a manager.
Barca, would have been great but they cannot afford him, I don’t want him at Liverpool because he will be second choice and he deserves better, and cannot see him at Bayern. Man U, would be a good choice because he can be hit and miss and would really piss of their fickle supporters.
I really respect Alonso’s decision although it may come back and bite him in the future although I think he’s hanging on for R Madrid, if Roberto decides to stay that would be fantastic and great for Brighton.
He needs a deeper squad but will Tony give it to him to fulfill his ambition, that is the question.

I'm getting that sinking feeling after his press conference. Let's be honest, there is a financial ceiling for us. We've had to become accustomed to players moving on because others will pay them more money. I totally believe RDZ when he says that his motivation is football not money, but accept that he needs to be able to buy into a plan that motivates him. He and his squad performed such miracles last year that it was tempting to believe that further progress was possible without re-writing the plan. Injuries have put paid to that optimism this term.
We know that Tony Bloom will not break the wage cap to keep players and my guess is that is what would be necessary to satisfy RDZ's ambition. I can't blame him any more than we blamed any of the players for moving on. I'm in full support of Tony's approach for the club and have to accept that, in the same way it is predicated upon developing young players, it's also going to involve giving young coaches the chance to impress the big boys and then move on. RDZ seems to be indicating that his ambitions go beyond player development and, given his talent, I can't really blame him for that. I hope I'm wrong, but if not, as always, we move on to the next adventure.

Who do Liverpool want as the next manager now Alonso is out? - that’s got to be a horrible role to go into after Klopp / FSG in charge.

I honestly can't believe the amount of bedwetting on here after every single press conference. I'm going to have to reduce this down to bullet points:
- If Liverpool, or Real Madrid or Bayren come calling in the summer then he'll leave. End of. We can't compete.
- There's no guarantee they will
- The summer will be unlike many other transfer windows. There will be clubs who have to sell talent, probably cut price to make sustainability / profit rules.
- We will be in a position to pick some of that talent up. We won't have to sell. But we also won't put ourselves in a position where it's us next who are up before the beak. I genuinely think TB and PBOBE are looking at Everton, Forest, Chelsea et al and GIGGLING. Staying within the limits is finally to our advantage. But we WILL stay within those limits.
- If the plan for next season that's constructed within the parameters of point four is acceptable to RDZ and point 1 hasn't happened, he'll stay. Else he'll go. He won't go mid-season and take the tea-lady with him though.
- If he goes the club will have an excellent succession plan. And, finally and most importantly.....
- RDZ says some things in press conferences to throw off opponents. He says some things in an English as a second language syntax that would be subtly different in meaning in Italian. He says other things to reinforce positions he's made internally within the club.

Based on that press conference he's most definitely off and it's the old ' we've reached our ceiling " line. It's a shame but Tony is not going to be bullied into changing the business model.
So here's the dilemma for tomorrow. Do we derail the Klop premier league push ' love in ' ? Or the papers are leading us to believe that tomorrow is the audition for the Liverpool job and would we prefer he ' fluffs' his lines badly and puts them off?

That's my assessment.
Yeah, it's really unsettling having a manager who is working on a non-contract basis.

As long as we have some clarity either way by the end of the season... a summer of wrangling and procrastination would be very damaging in my opinion.
