The second season was Potter's biggest disgrace

Imagine having a squad with these players and only finishing 16th. It's laughable

Sanchez
White
Burn
Dunk
Veltman
Lamptey
Gross
Lallana
Macallister
Bissouma
Trossard
March
Approx £160,000,000 worth of SOLD talent there.

Strong team but imagine the face on Roberto if Tony would have left him with Maupay Connolly Zequiri and injured Welbeck as his forward options

Somehow, that squad/team looks stronger when the forward options are omitted all together.
Maybe Potter should have tried that more. :lolol:
12 players on Terrys list and Lamptey missed most of the season and March and Lallana both injured half of it I think. But yes no idea if playing no one would of been better or worse than Connolly or Zequiri

I agree the overall league position was disappointing but there was some glorious performances and results. That win at Anfield, the defeat of Man City, the smashing of Newcastle on their own patch.

Disgrace is a completely wrong description of that season.

Maupay and Welbeck up front that season plus Webster Moder and Alzate but Potter wasted it playing Zequiri at wing back. It was a shit show. A 2nd lockdown was bad enough before the mental strain of watching that shit.

It's interesting watching Ipswich. They are very much a passing side, playing out from the back and are the leading scorers in all four divisions.
I'm sure Kieran McKenna will be mentioned as a possible replacement for RDZ when he does eventually depart.
Although I reckon if Ipswich do get promoted I would imagine he will make the same decision as Xabi Alonso and stay with his current players. He is only 37 and has plenty of time in front of him.
Yes, I think McKenna would be our number one target.
Farioli at Nice has struggled a bit after a good start so his stock has fallen a bit.
Also think that Franck Haise at Lens would be a potential.

A team stacked in quality like that only winning 9 times all season is a disgrace

Not our best player but most important one we would of been relegated if not for him

Imho the Maupay we got was a huge improvement on what we had before, he had the energy to harass defences who’d had it easy until then, whilst 8 to 10 vital PL goals per season was decent.

Everton got the dud with no legs.

As will de Zerbi's tactics against Rome, and a series of poor results against bottom of the table sides, be deemed a disgrace once he has walked out on us for a big pay day ("He never was that good, really - I thought he was sh*t all along" will probably be the new mantra of the more entitled NSCers). The sun, of course, will shine out of the new manager's arse, and no dissention will be considered acceptable, no matter how many GKs he rotates.

I would think a "top" manager - i.e a really good one - would love our model. Pretty much left alone, supported during difficult runs, top notch facilities, plenty of investment and a good mix of youth and experience. I'd personally argue that the very best coaches work wonders with what they have (which I think RDZ has generally done) rather than continually asking for more players when the going gets tough.

Wasn’t saying we aren’t set up for it, of course we are. It was more of a case to push on and break our model to hit the heights .

Ipswich fans would be baffled if that happed and they also managed promotion.
