This should have people in the streets.

But what do we all do?

We tut.
I suppose the upside, as Rees Mogg helpfully revealed, is that the tory plan was as bungled as it was malign.

Lot's of elderly don't have passports or driving licence. And swathes of wealthy elderly who still plan to vote tory have no need for a bus pass and are largely outside London.

Their plan was poorly thought through. I still want Labour to bin the abomination of voter ID requirements on day 1 though

We're pretty apathetic nation really. Our poorest 20% are now poorer than the poorest 20% in Poland. Been a good time for Tory chums and donors though

Indeed and if NSC is anything to by many of these ‘Poorest’ seemingly get a bashing from from many of our fine apparent working class Labour Voters for no other reason than the way they dress and daring to take their children to Mcdonald’s😉

Two Tory ministers have quit the government in a double blow to Rishi Sunak, who will now be forced to carry out a mini-reshuffle of the junior ranks.

Veteran MP Robert Halfon unexpectedly announced he would step down as education minister and would be leaving the Commons at the next general election.

Armed forces minister James Heappey, who had already said that he planned to go, confirmed he had left his role at the Ministry of Defence in advance of standing down.

Dickheads.

Too late – it's already out there, seen by millions and – ironically – attacked from all sides. The first I saw or heard of it was first thing this morning via a 'suggested post' from that Tory-loving Dan Hodges on Twitter. If you're a Tory and you've got HIM calling you out, then you know you're in trouble!

As a form of ID, old ones that they probably still have might be out of date, but they aren't exactly going to get any younger, are they?!

Expired passports and driving licences are still valid ID, although an elderly man I knew was still driving until he was 92.
Wealthy elderly people will still have passports to go abroad in winter for sunshine.

As a physically f***ed up 53yr old with CF, in need of both hips replacement (which isn't going to happen) .... Who's been kettled more times than I've purchased a kettle ....

I don't know anymore.

Sit at home in pain and moan I guess.

Boat Race organisers have issued new safety guidance for the race on Saturday, warning rowers not to enter the water and to cover any open wounds, after high levels of E coli bacteria were found on the River Thames course.

It means the traditional celebration in which members of the winning team often jump into the river – which was seen last year when the Cambridge men’s cox Jasper Parish jumped into the Thames at Mortlake – could be consigned to history.

Instead the Oxford and Cambridge crews will be encouraged to wash themselves down at a dedicated cleansing station at the finish.

More than 4m hours of sewage discharges poured into rivers and seas last year, a 129% increase on the previous 12 months
With over 70% of UK water companies in foreign / overseas ownership it is time that the water companies were re-nationalised. The profits "stolen" by the overseas investors can then be re-invested in infrastructure.

The Victorians were brilliant engineers and the fact that our sewerage system lasted so long is testament to that. But nothing lasts forever.

In Worthing, the majority of roadside drains are all silted up (I haven't seen the machine that sucks all the shit up for years) so how bad the problem would be if the rainwater was getting into the drainage system rather than flooding the roads and pavements I dread to think.
