Come on lads, the game's up. We're past all this stuff, Steele's obviously not a good enough goalkeeper. How many times does he have to show that before the penny will drop for the last few stragglers at the back? I don't believe there's a single fan who doesn't get deflated seeing his name on the teamsheet now.
I'm not totally on board the Jason bus, I'm just getting absolutely f***ed off with the supposed fans having a constant go at a player or manager decision, when people at the club obviously know a damn sight more than 99.9% of fans

Please can someone pull some stats for comparison.
Won, lost, drawn and goals conceded for all games this season for JS vs BV

Might put this debate to bed ...
Last 5 games each:

Steele L5 - Concede 14
Bart L0 - Conceded 4

On recent form, it's a shoo-in

Big risk that Steele's confidence will be shot to pieces at the moment.

Edit:
Premier league stats:

You're in your own little NSC echo chamber if that is the case. Believe what you like, I don't mind Steele being on the teamsheet especially in a game where build-up and accurate passing from our keeper is going to be crucial.

Bart:

Everton H
Sheff Utd A
Palace H
Sheff Utd A

Steele:
Roma A
Fulham A
Wolves A
Spurs A
Luton A

I'd be shocked if Bart's form wasn't better than Steele's given the games they have played.

I don't want to pile on Steele.

He is unquestionbly better at the build up play than Bart.
But Bart's the future and Steele's weaknesses are becoming more obvious, game by game.
Yeah this is where im at. Always backed Steele in the past, and dont want to give the guy unnecessary grief, but more recently I think there's been a slight tipping towards his mistakes or areas of his game that arent so strong outweighing the benefits he does bring. Not by lots, but enough to suggest that Bart would be at least as effective between the sticks (if not more) but with a higher ceiling. I dont think there's currently much between the 2 keepers, they both have strong and weak areas, but I feel Bart has a higher ceiling and he's improving on his weaker areas quickly. To speed up his learning and get closer to his potential I would go with Bart from now on, but Steele will still remain a perfectly good back up.

This, this and a thousand times this. Lucky Steele is made of strong stuff because he can't fail to be aware of how some fans behave. But it's good we've got yet another Steele bashing thread.

I broadly agree with you, but his current form is a worry.

Luton A

But to be clear, Steele's form could not be any worse.
And Bar's ave percentage and Goals against for the entire season are significantly better than Steele's

I’d like to see a list of the games, my interpretation is that RDZ has largely been protecting Bart as the younger keeper, even in that list above, Steele’s have all been away, and in the big ones or ones we’ve been resting players / absences.

Plus a lot of these results can’t be just put on the keeper either.

That's what I've been doing game by game to be honest! I am stunned, genuinely stunned, RDZ keeps playing Steele despite his ability. It's such a blindspot.

I can't imagine how Bart feels about it either, he comes in and the team does well - then he's out of the team again and suddenly we've shipped 3/4 goals again. It's no coincidence we concede fewer goals with a quality keeper in the side. I suspect Rushworth will really fancy his chances of displacing Steele next season.

It does seem a blindspot, or maybe a weakness to drop a player he really likes. We've seen him be ruthless with players he has apparently fallen out with, like Trossard, Sanchez, Dahoud. But does he find it too difficult to do the opposite and drop his favourite players?

The trouble is 10% of NSC think they are the 0.1%.

That seems to indicate Steele has not responded well to the player rotation policy
Or, as summised above, Bart is being protected and Steele is facing the trickier fixtures.

My suspicion would be he plays Bart tomorrow, a bit of a free hit now and a home game, and Steele has Anfield.
