Playing snooker
when this happened to Liverpool fans in Paris you all pissed yourselves.???
I'll tell you what. Most of the other mods are in Rome for the game and I'm busy with work.

So whilst you may or may not have points regarding equivalance etc, nobody is really in the mood for that right now. Especially me. So if your purpose for being on this thread is to try and create a bit of friction, your stay will be an especially short one.

Thanks.

Our fans should wear yellow to the Amex return fixture to express it was a cowardly thing to do.
Or at least yellow socks like they do in Rome

I also hope the players are aware what’s happened and give us everything to beat that team.
I‘m sure TB/PBOBE were informed very early on - it would be impossible for players not to know, it’s splashed over global MSM and social media - just hope it doesn’t throw their concentration or blunt the edge of our aggressive attacking game that we‘re going to need - Roma fans will be livid and up for trouble if we win regardless of how ‘fair and friendly like’ we beat them, so what the heck, darks arts please from us, a ref biased in our favour and an unfair red card to Roma 👍 .

I most certainly didn't

Why would anyone remotely celebrate football related violence? Can you find one example of anyone who found this funny?
Some on here said they deserved it because, well, you know, it’s Liverpool. These incidents in Rome will remind some people that football fans often get targeted in these places and it’s best not to blame the victims.

No ones ever said that about any other fan getting stabbed so wind your neck in and stop point scoring on the back of something shit happening to a friend of mine.

What I hope we can avoid ..... and what I'm confident we can avoid ... is the whole .... "well we'll do them in, when they come to ours" macho, posturing, revenge bullshit.

This isn't a war and it isn't about national manliness. If you're thinking it is, it's time to grow up. This is about people senselessly being put in a hospital, possibly in a critical condition.

I also hope, but am less confident we can avoid ... is the whole national yah boo bullshit that goes with this. Ie English authorities protest a specific incident, Italian authorities cite the English record on football hooliganism as a pretext to doing absolutely nothing to prevent this happening again.

The Argus reporting that one fan is in critical condition , hope they have got that wrong

From that same article. The Argus is contradicting itself.

What do police say?

Sussex Police's football liaison officer PC Darren Balkham is in Rome this morning.

He confirmed that two Brighton fans are involved.

PC Balkham said: "We are aware of the incident reported in Italian media last night."

"Have spoken to both Brighton fans who are ok. We reiterate the advice of the club published on the pre match info.

The usual suspects (appropriately all of whom I’ve previously blocked) once again making twats of themselves playing devil’s advocate on here. One of our own got f**king stabbed and people are playing whataboutery and making light.

Mods, thread ban them please. This is not the time or place.

‘Winding your neck in’ is usually reserved for people being aggressive. Certainly not me. This is a thread about English football fans being attacked in Rome. Some people (me) see similarities.

You are still point scoring. Back off.
