Roma's a club I've traditionally had a bit of a soft spot for, and I've been really proud to see how welcoming Brighton (the club and the city) has been to visiting European fans this season.

But after this, I hope we do absolutely nothing to make the visit pleasant for them. Keep them in the stadium as long as possible after the game, screw up all their transport plans, feed them exclusively ham & pineapple pizza. f*** 'em.
Where does it say they were Roma fans ?

Just cancel all their away tickets for the Amex and give to Albion fans instead. Idiots.

Hope Jack and any other victims are ok.

Incredibly sad - but seemingly inevitable - that on the day we play one of the biggest games in our history the main focus is on the wellbeing of our supporters being targeted and stabbed in Rome.

This is 100% a Roma issue and until Roma and the local authorities demonstrate they can eradicate it, then UEFA should ban Roma from European competition. The next victims may not live to tell the tale of having a blade indiscriminately stuck in them.

Sorry to read this Jack, hope you recover quickly and get to the game.
Priorities though, i hope (I'm sure) you'll find a way to get to the stadium.

This is not a 'European' problem as I keep reading in this thread, it is an ITALIAN problem. I've never heard of this happening in Germany, Holland or France for ininstance.
To be fair it might be Mediterranean problem. It happens a fair bit here in Greece. Usually people are stabbed in the buttocks but often the leg. We've had quite a few people die in the last decade from getting their arteries cut.

What English people usually forget is that football isn't really a mass spectator sport in many places. Due to the problems of ultras only the nutters are interested now. Normal people have rightfully left. It's an ongoing joke here to laugh at anyone who regularly goes to football.

Whilst i’m in total agreement do we know these were Roma fans specifically, they could be Lazio no?

Totally agree and it should be immediate.

That's quite interesting to hear. I guess similar to here in the 70's and 80's in some way then.

History gives us a guide without total certainty…I was amazed at the number of incidents when I did a quick google on stabbings associated with Roma….one such link below halos The Sun)
