He’s part of the defence. And our defence concede more when he’s in goal.

The idea that he couldn’t do more with the goals is also laughable. The second and third, in particular, were amateurish goalkeeping. A good Prem keeper saves the second one and faces up Traore for the third, whereas he was so passive, as he often is.

I appreciate Steele seems like a nice guy, but his continued inclusion is a serious issue at this stage and I don’t quite know what else he has to do to lose his place consistently.

And all of this is relevant because we’ve stopped scoring more than 1 goal.

Through all of RDZs career his teams have shipped goals and he’s relied on out scoring. Our defensive record here is about par - but goals scored has declined dramatically.

The third is solely down to Pascal Gross I’m afraid, he doesn’t have to make that save if he doesn’t lose possession. Not everything has to be pinned on Steele.

It does to some people!!

First goal, Webster's fault as he allowed Wilson onto his favoured left foot.
Second goal, I really don't see that Steel is at fault. Player gets ahead of Dunk for the header. I suggest most keepers will concede there.
Third goal, I'm not sure what Sussex_Guy_2K2 is actually watching as Steele does stand up to him and it's only at the last moment that Traore passes it past into the net. When the keeper is that close it's almost impossible to react in time.

Absolute garbage to suggest it was amateurish goalkeeping.

I have a feeling that this is what happened with Sanchez. He couldn’t complain about losing his place following the Palace howler then conceding that last-minute breakaway against Fulham. However he had a decent game in the 2-1 win against Chelsea - beaten by a big deflection but otherwise solid - and also did well in the semi against Utd, particularly that save from a deflected Rashford shot late on. I imagine it was frustrating to be dropped again and not regain his place even after Everton defeat when it genuinely was 5 shots on target resulting in 5 goals.

Hopefully, he’ll not show his frustration publicly. He certainly seemed to have bought into the team with the way he celebrated Dunk’s equaliser last week.

I couldn’t believe it yesterday when the team sheet came out and Steele was playing yet again. Roberto is taking the piss, He couldn’t care yesterday if we won or lost.

Thought RDZ had made it clear that Steele is far better with his feet than Sanchez and the way we play needs a keeper comfortable with his feet.

I think the problem with Sanchez is that he is crap, evidenced by the fact he’s been binned off by Chelsea.

He lost his place through injury, not through being dropped. He's only recently returned to fitness, and Petrovic has been doing well enough enough to keep the jersey.
