I know this is a more important tie, but surely we won't take significantly more numbers than we did for Marseille (a) where we in the end didn't come close to selling out? People had weeks and weeks to sort travel for that one, whereas here there's only 10 days. It was our first ever away game in Europe and there were more viable travel options.
I'm certainly hoping so personally anyway, as somebody in the All STHs bracket.

Though if you read the stadium rules it states sitting in allocated seats.

There'll be 3,400 of us in an area with c5,000 seats - no-one will care where anyone sits (stands).
Unless they block off a ‘no man’s land’ either side, then they would.
Perhaps it’s for our own safety?

Marseille is known for crowd issues and to put it politely, the city isn't the best.
Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Roma is a bigger name.
This could also be our last away trip, whereas we still had Ajax and Athens to come when we went to Marseille.

There was a vibe at that time though which detracted from the appeal of Marseille. I wonder if the number of pre-registrations is a closely guarded secret or whether we could actually be told about the relative demand for the 4 EL away matches including Rome...? Will obviously depend on perspective but feels quite shit that the club don't put greater emphasis on providing information to fans that would save the fans angst, money, or both.

I really don't get that? if the away section is a fixed area with 5k seats, why just give the minimum 5%, I doubt the extra 1500 Albion high up, in a corner miles from the pitch would make much difference to the 65k Roma fans.
If we actually read the stadium rules at a lot of places they often say you can't wear steel toe caps and nobody's ever stopped me.
I don't know (or care, given I have no expectation of being able to get a ticket myself), but it'd be a very odd thing to write if it weren't the case.

Which is funny as the bulk of attending fans for the prior 3 games are from the top 2 tiers of STH’s so those fans are going to get tickets regardless

It's nothing to do with Roma, but the local police - Albion wanted more tickets but were denied.
For the police, away fans in the ground is probably the easy bit of the job.
I guess it's more to do with the concerns of having up to 50% more fans in the city / needing to be protected / having to be shuttled about / whatever.
Frustrating when Leicester were given 5,000 less than two years ago.

I'm afraid not, no.
Rome is easier to get to and a more familiar city. I reckon we will more and it will sell out quicker.
me too, was hoping my Irish passport (Brexit+living in EU+Irish forebears = get a passport) would allow me to sneak into the home end - I know it says born in UK, but I figured they are less likely to check if you have a non-uk passport.
At 3pm we should know whether us 1+ers will have a ticket in the away end - If they are sold out, off to the Roma Site where tickets are on sale 4pm (3pm uk) - if there are still tickets available for 1+ers, I will have to hold my nerve.
If I end up in the home end, I'm hoping I can get a ticket right next to you guys like in AEK, rather than the other side of the stadium, as at Ajax. Those tickets are steep EUR 84, so I'm hoping they will still be available - but still cheaper than Athens.
I see your point about 50% fans in the city yet Leicester got 5000. I wonder if the rugby on Saturday plays any part in our reduced capacity?
