Sorry but the Chelsea player made little or no attempt to get back….and if we are going to use that as a yardstick then I would suggest every single corner kick yesterday should have been retaken

Well he blocked him didn’t he? Taking him out the game, I don’t mean it as a serious foul or anything.
Not clear and obvious at all.
1. Colwill made no effort to get past Endo. He just gives up because the player is in the way.
2. Chilwell was Van Djik’s marker. It’s not clear and obvious that Colwill would have got near the ball.
He wasn't getting back to stop the header.
It happens most weeks in most games.
He's not Bolt, he's not stopping the cross or the header

What was the advantage of him being offside? Might be the rule but doesn’t make it particularly logical to disallow a goal for such an action.

The Chelsea player made hardly any effort to get past him..it’s not as though the Liverpool player was moving side to side ….i’d say that was a decision made for the occasion
He would have been in the area the ball went into and might have got to it before Van Dijk

That's the issue. They will sometimes make that decision and other times they don't. It's interesting we've had three similar 'challenges' this weekend - Maguire, WBG and Caicedo. Only WBG saw red, Maguire yellow and Caicedo (with Gravenberch being stretchered off) absolutely nothing. It's a mystery.

The fact Endo didn’t once look at the ball and steps towards Colwill to block him makes that pretty clear to me, correct decision. Without that block Colwill might have been in position to get a defensive header in.
I remember when one of our players ‘blocked’ a Burnley player. Was it Mac? Anyway, he was forcablly moved out the way and the Burnley player scored. Colwill showed no intention of fighting for the ball. He was playing a non-contact sport when the ball came over.

They make the rules up as they go along, every single player is interfering with play, as far as I was aware standing your ground isn’t a foul.
Every week you see players standing offside when a kick is taken, Colwill runs into him if anything for me so when players do that now just go run into the offside player and it will be a foul
More to the point if his plan was to block Colwill it’s absolutely criminal to be offside, shocking from Endo
He was in the area the ball went into and he might have been able to clear it. We can say he might not but it doesn’t matter, the point is the player stopped him getting into that area by blocking him, thus being involved in play and offside.
