I hope they have "done well" by him. Good luck in retirement old fella.
Ray Lewington. A young lad for the futureI'm absolutely adamant their plan was for Roy to be schooling someone in-house.
I can't for the life of me remember who and I really can't be arsed to look it up.
Please someone tell me that was the case and has now conveniently been forgotten.
Palace twitter were convinced pre season that Roy would be overseeing Paddy McCarthys introduction into first team management, because he’s you know, proper palaceI'm absolutely adamant their plan was for Roy to be schooling someone in-house.

I've also just seen some of them looking forward to a "European tour".Palace twitter were convinced pre season that Roy would be overseeing Paddy McCarthys introduction into first team management, because he’s you know, proper palace

They are now using the European pedigree manager as a confort blanket as he was admired by both Marseille and AJax apparentlyI've also just seen some of them looking forward to a "European tour".

That sort of fits with my understanding. The previous clubs shafted St J's but some fans did the decent thing. Funnily enough, when St J's get mentioned their fans get pissy-knickered because they jump to the conclusion that we do not accept that St J's were paid. The point is that club seems to attract dodgier owners than the decent fans deserve. The fans say that they paid St John's

Quite a lot to chose from eh? An exceptional history of financial instability and mis-management.I think it's the current owners - unless it didn't happen in the 2010 administration, but an earlier one.
The fans did pay St Johns, there was a fundraiser to make sure that was coveredThe fans say that they paid St John's
Credit to the fans. But did the club make any effort to pay up?The fans did pay St Johns, there was a fundraiser to make sure that was covered
Jordan likes to bang on about the relatively small debt and how Parish and Co took it over for a steal. That would be down to the administrators, and I think the answer was probably no
The second administration was due to a relatively small debt to some hedge fund that got cold feet, and pulled the plug if you believe Simon Jordan
What year was that Dan?The fans did pay St Johns, there was a fundraiser to make sure that was covered
If, as an example, you got a loan from a bank to build a new property, to then sell, and everything was going well, but suddenly the back bank said it wanted its money back, you could be totally screwed.Jordan likes to bang on about the relatively small debt and how Parish and Co took it over for a steal.
I assume the administration was due to the fact the owner didn't have the cash to run the club anymore.
The level of debt is irrelevant, if the owner can't afford to cover it, the game's up.
The new owners (of whichever admin it was) make an offer to the administrators. If someone like St John's don't get paid, it's really down to the honour of the wealthy owners to do the right thing. They obviously didn't, so the fans had to do it. Great from the fans and a disgrace from the club. That would be down to the administrators, and I think the answer was probably no
It's also important to remember that the club must act in a consistent manner in administration, they can't favour one creditor over another. But you're right contributors that the wealthy owners / associates could've done the right thingThe fans did pay St Johns, there was a fundraiser to make sure that was covered
