Left after full time. The thought of missing a last minute winner after sitting through that shit was too much!

Didn’t get on a train until about 22:40. Train to Hove wasn’t until 23:09 so f***ed it off and splashed on a taxi.

Left on the final whistle as normal but trains seemed terrible. Didn’t get back to Worthing till nearly midnight - pretty sure it was the same time as the Marseille game which kicked off 15mins later and we stayed behind to clap the players off!

Left at final whistle. Legged it to the train with the young'un in tow and waited until 22.36 to get on a train to Brighton. Connection back to Hassocks at 11. Walked in the door at 11.30.

Up at 5 for work.

Not usually that bad but early leavers meant the queue started a lot further back than normal for the train.

Stayed to final whistle, popped round to East stand to chat to mates in a very empty concourse. stayed there about 20 minutes. Joined queue for trains to Lewes which stated about half way up the ramp. Noticeable (as always) when joined the downward part of the ramp that last few carriages of trains heading east were 80% empty despite hundreds of fans in the queue.

There were grumbles from passengers wanting to board the train, but the ‘computer says no’ clipboard kid brigade from Southern Rail would not allow anyone through the gate onto the platform.

Albion fans are a fairly easy bunch so it was mild moaning, but if, for say, at the next match we lose at home to Palace and it is pissing down with rain things could turn ugly, and I’m not talking Guppy Saunders.

Home at Heathfield 11;45pm

The Amexit from 80 minutes onwards is far from ideal, must impact the players, but understandable given the shortcomings and bureaucratic approach taken by Southern. Not blaming the staff, they are following orders made by the Southern suits.

A bit of an exodus on 85. I stayed until 88 and managed to beat the queues for the train. Walked through the door (Eastbourne) at 11.02pm.

I left on 85 as teenage son has to be up at 06.50 for college and needs more than 7 hours sleep to function properly. Ran down to station - turned out to be very worth it as just got to platform for train at 21.33, taxi home from Eastbourne station and he was tucked up in bed by 22.20. Best result of the night.

On the Brighton side they were running more or less to time. Two issues; everyone left early and one of the peak trains was only 4 carriages. On the Lewes side as EP says we could see trains leaving half empty.

There are reasons why short formed trains are more likely for evening games but there’s no excuse for the Lewes situation and the club need to have a very firm word about that now.

Eventually ended up on the 22.35 from Falmer to Lewes, because the staff were totally incompetent when it came to loading 8 car trains. The previous Seaford left with two coaches empty and our one, I was in the second coach, was practically empty too, with several hundred still on the ramps.

Left at the final whistle. Had to wait 10 minutes outside for my sister to bring my Mum round from the East - must have been a queue for the wheelchair lift. Push her up the ramp to meet her taxi, 30 minutes queueing to get onto the A27, then a really clear journey back to Lancing.

Then our own 65 miles West, with all the various A/M27 closures. Home a couple of minutes before midnight.

sound familiar, walked up the stairs on the final whistle, walked down to the station to a massive queue, waited 45 mins to get on a train, walked round to the westbound trains at Brighton and could only see the one you mention going to hove at 11.09 (we're Portslade), checked the no. 6 bus which was a 22 minute wait.
had nephew with us who had school the next morning so spent £14 on a cab.

I have to say that having read through everyone's shitty experiences, you have my sympathy. I am thankful that I live fairly local and can afford a season ticket on a supporters coach. Otherwise I would not be attending many games. I am an old bastard though.
