I know this will bite me, but I just don’t see Belichick as a factor. It would be nice for him to break Shula’s record, but given how the Pats went post Brady, does he have it in him?
I dont either tbh - he needs to give up any idea of coaching again at this level, at his age, and enjoy a well earned retirement.

Would be fun to see the Cowboys crash and burn though if Jones did hire him, wouldn't it?! 😁

Recent history suggests after humiliating the Cowgirls, the 69ers do the same to us, and my QB HoF bravado disappears faster than a palace fan from here.

Only 1 game can be confirmed for next weekend.
We're playing San Fran at 01:15 Sunday morning.

I guess I should be grateful the actual football calendar is so screwed I can plan my weekend around the early hours of Sunday.

49ers were post season kryptonite for Aaron Rodgers. Hoping that Love will break that. Looking forward to it. These young Packers are playing with the house money and without fear.

I'd written this season off as a total rebuild with all the rookies, injuries and going 3-6.

Could scarcely believe what I was watching last night as the Pack blitzed the Cowboys from the get go. The team are revitalised and the next few seasons promise much to look forward to.

Oh dear. Poor old Dave. The Eagles collapse in the second half of the season has been one for the ages, the sort of thing I'd expect from Cleveland.

And talking of Cleveland I see the Bucs' QB, the man who stepped into Tom Brady's shoes and led them into the play-offs, threw for 337 yards and three touchdowns. He was a #1 draft pick, Buster Merryfield or something. Thinking of the times when we had the #1 pick why couldn't we ever sign a QB like that?

(Yes yes, I know I know).

The Eagles lose, completing the double dip of schadenFreude joy for rest of the NFC East. Adam Peters presser in Washington at 2pm eastern today. Who’d have thought that Commanders fans would be the chirpiest at this stage of the season, hilarious!

Worthing
Fingers crossed 😉

If you’d told me anytime before week 12 that we’d be playing the Eagles in the playoffs I would have wrote it off. Now I’m seriously debating staying up to watch this one.

But it’s the hope that kills you!
Great win for you.

Unlucky @Publius Ovidius - arguably best team for half the season, just wonder whether Siriani will survive….

Yep! Said at the time we signed *he who shall not be named* that I would've preferred another year of a healthy Buster Merryfield rather than have *him*, then see what the situation was like.
I was one of BM's biggest critics at times I'll admit, but I still think he would've done well for us again once he got his shoulder sorted out.....as hes proved now, elsewhere. Hes had a complete resurgence in Tampa after bouncing about for a year or so. I hope Stefanski & Berry feel suitably guilty about dumping him so quick.

Yup, I'll hold my hands up and say I too wasn't 100% convinced on Merryfield, sorry, Mayfield either. (I said as much, several times, on last year's thread). In my defence I'll say I'm not paid to spot NFL talent - proved by the fact I wanted Sam Darnold instead of him in the Draft anyway! (Now he would have been a typical Cleveland signing).

Anyway, fair play to him, he's proving his critics wrong. And yes, whilst I dearly wanted a franchise QB I'd much rather we'd stuck with him as opposed to wasting all that cash (and goodwill) on 'you know who'. Be careful what you wish for, eh?

Some fairly one-sided games overall this wildcard round, hopefully next weekend will give us some more close and competitive tussles.

Thank you...

Oh yes they really can...

Goff, St Brown, Gibbs, Montgomery and LaPorta as good as anyone in the skilled positions in the league

I cant see it, but stranger things have happened. The Bucs are probably going to start as underdogs, but they have a very strong roster - and are peaking at just the right time. Will be a tough game on Sunday. If the Leos get through that one, the 49ers or Packers will be just as tough. Win the NFC though, and they have every right to think they could win it all.
My Lions supporting mate is in Kenya when the Superbowl is on....hes already said if the Lions get to Vegas hes leaving the wife there on her work trip, and coming home to watch it! 😁

One cold day in Buffalo, fortunately I've got the clothes to keep warm for 4 hours of tailgating and a game, but I think -10 is getting near the limit for me.

We now get to play KC, surprisingly enough the Mahomes Chiefs have never played in Orchard Park* and that puts them at a disadvantage as visiting QBs often struggle learning how the wind affects the football in Orchard Park (* I'm wrong, they played in 2020 but fans weren't allowed so I forgot this one). Really looking forward to this one... and a visit from T. Swift. A few tailgate photos from Monday
