Back in Sussex
“They played against Arsenal, who had the most ball possession and the most chances created after City.

“They took 38% ball possession against 62% and played them like a fiddle. I hadn’t seen a gulf in class like that this year, even when Arsenal were beaten 4-1 by Manchester City. Crazy stuff.

“At the moment, Brighton are the team playing the most beautiful football in the world with Manchester City. This is a fact.”

...so says Antonio Cassano here...

These plaudits are beginning to get a bit cringe. I imagine De Zerbi is getting annoyed with it as well.

Bottom line we've won nothing and in addition we've recently been thrashed by two dross sides in forest and everton.

Not time to bask in any glory yet.
I don't think they are cringe at all. I think they are pretty accurate. That we are playing in such a manner without the personnel available to City is very much to our credit.

It's not about basking in glory, it's about enjoying the fantastic football we are playing at the moment regardless of where we end up at the end of the season. On course to score over 70 league goals this season, I'd say that is something to shout about.

Agree to a certain extent. But it is actually really helpful in terms of building the profile of the club, making us very attractive to potential signings and managers down the line, and must be a big boost to the sponsorship and commercial aspects of the club. What we musnt do is start believing the hype ourselves as that is exactly when the wheels will come off in spectacular fashion.

True but we might never win any meaningful trophies. I’ve learned to break down my BHA experience into little bursts of short term pain and pleasure. Emotionally it’s hard to focus on entire seasons or longer term projects. So I’m loving the style of football and the points we’re racking up in the process, and those things are their own reward.

Ask Everton fans what they think.

But I agree, these are halcyon days.

You can dig a negative out of any scenario…hence picking two bad results out of a season when most have been exceptional.

We may never win anything but f*** me I am absolutely loving how we play and bad results happen to every team, yes even City, they lost at the Etihad to Brentford

Living the dream here and loving that it’s no longer a dream…I am watching it happen

I'm completely the opposite, IMO these are the glory days. We lose those few games and it hurts for a little bit but I wouldn't really want to win every game as that would get boring. I'd love to win a trophy but I've never felt as many highs before in a season and I have certainly had many many lows in many a season

Exactly dwayne. It's not as if we've won the Premier League, the Champions League or even the FA Cup. Move along, absolutely nothing to get excited about :lolol:

Cassano is a fool. A wasted talent with the ball and a loud mouth with a mic. However, he's big news in Italy. This sort of thing is a big deal. Raises our profile hugely.

We really REALLY need to savour the remainder of this season. No matter how the end-game pans out from here on in, it's been a truly amazing season
Although some would have you believe it's going to 'end horribly'...
