Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
How was that not disallowed for the clear handball in the build up? Oh, it’s VAR.

How was that hand ball not given?
Very obviously moved his elbow out to control the ball.
Maybe a different phase of play but there was only one attacking phase here and it began with a handball by TAA

From what point does the VAR check incidents leading to a penalty or goal?

The VAR will only check the attacking possession phase that led to the penalty or goal.

The starting point will be limited to the immediate phase. The VAR may not go back to when the attacking team gained possession.

The VAR will consider the ability of the opposing defence to reset, and the momentum of the attack.

Yep, blatant handball.

According to the independent Sky expert, Jamie Spitagher, his arm may have moved that way anyway so it's all good.

Yes, and Carragher praising “Trent” in the build up while failing to mention TAA gave the ball away in the first place and then handled with his elbow knocking the ball forwards.
Deliberate or not his elbow was away from his body.
If VAR had disallowed the goal no one would have complained (except entitled scousers)
