I agree with those saying.
Sanchez will likely leave in the summer.
We'll buy a new keeper (and if there was a job advert it would read ... keeper needed. Must have the passing ability of Xavi Hernandez, shot stopping ability optional)
Steele will revert to number 2
Beadle and MacGill will have at least one more year of loans probably more.
Rushworth has a 50/50 chance of getting a squad place, depending on whether the club think it's better for him to be around here or be on loan
Scherpen will be sold

Sanchez flaps at crosses/corners due to being somewhat indecisive like the first game of the season at Manure. Someone said to me before the Palace blunder Sanchez has stopped saving us in big moments and needs dropped, maybe RDZ thought the same.

I'm a big Sanchez fan, but I can't argue with the decision to give Steele a go because clearly he is in the form of his career, he has the confidence and deserves his chance. Credit to RDZ for giving that a go, because it's important everyone in a squad feels like they can break into the first XI.
If by the summer he hasn't won his place back, starts agitating for a move, starts failing the 'no dick heads' policy and a decent offer comes in, then that isn't a getting rid moment, that is a moving on moment. Think this scenario is more down to RS than RDZ.
The positive is that he obviously has taken it well enough and got his head down to get the start against Grimsby.

Potentially controversial one- maybe we could go for Pickford if Everton go down? Maybe even if they don't considering their financial situation. He seems to fluctuate between world class and utter crap but there's no denying he is excellent with the ball at his feet.

Not convincing enough with the gloves or positioning imho.
He is exceptional with ball at his feet, a genuine nice guy, but purely as a keeper keeping the ball out of the net..........well hes certainly not rubbish, but we could do better.
A bit like Danny Ward at Leicester, decent enough but not fantastic.

He's not a great shot stopper, especially at close range, which is pretty important at this level.
Great assist. Think we would have won today if Sanchez was in goal, despite the incredible assist.

First one seemed to go through him, but the Toney goal was most dissapointing. Ofc it all happens so quickly, but with the ball going powerfully and quite close to Steeles left, the whole action of diving over it seemed the wrong choice, it was already in net by time Steele hit the deck.
Im no keeper, but an outstretched left leg seems the obvious choice. These are things though youd expect are practised in training so theyre instinctive on the day?
He is our number 1 for rest of this season most likely, so will get behind him, but aside the incredible long pass, and some good passes at the back, not the most convincing with gloves today.

He potentially could have saved all three goals. I'm convinced Raya would have saved at least one of them. Pretty sure Sanchez would have got to the first.

My thoughts exactly, Steele is good with his feet and distribution but Sanchez is a much better shot stopper, did Steele make one good save today?

Sanchez' shot stopping has been excellent since day 1. His extra 3" of height and subsequent wingspan coupled with athleticism make him harder to beat from distance.
I also don't think Sanchez is anymore capable of dropping clangers than most keepers. It's just hard to forget when it results in letting Palace get an undeserved equaliser in a game we've dominated.
