@Guinness Boy, @Bozza, @hans kraay fan club... someone pop in and save this bloke from getting chased away by morons who think there's only one person on this planet who can string a couple of sentences together.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
If you’re calling me a ‘moron’ here, firstly wind your neck in. Secondly, I’m not thinking it’s the obvious second account whatsoever - clearly not as would be way too obvious. Was just commenting on how odd it looked. Someone’s friend off the Internet maybe - chances of an English (I presume) Juve fan suddenly coming across North Stand Chat when RDZ has nothing to do with Juve etc are just a bit slim…

I hadn’t meant to quote Swansman, actually I was calling him out for protesting too much … apologies.

It’s fine. No way it’s him. It’s his Internet friend from one of the other 2355 message boards he posts on 50 times a day each imo. But if I’m wrong, of course the Juve fan is welcome here and would never want to chase anyone off and nor would others 👍

You popped on the message board with perfect English and called a poster. ‘Swanny’ several times with your first post - who’d have thought 🤣
Uh yeah I guess it does seem strange for a small forum maybe, but lurking is still the one of the main (and best) rules of the internet, especially before starting to write in a community. I've been reading the forums for a while, a couple months at least, before deciding to make an account in case I wanted to comment on something. So yeah I've already read my fair share of "Swanny" arguments - I used the abbreviated form you guys use because it is faster than writing Swansman.

As for the reason I'm here, as I said before I like following the progress of some Italians in the PL from time to time, especially if they're doing well. I'm also aware of Gnonto's general trajectory at Leeds for example, but a coach has more power and influence than a single player in a league. I actually found a lot of other Italian people who are following what De Zerbi is doing (some of them hoping he'll come back to Italy to coach their club), and Italian sports media sometimes report on it too.

And I wouldn't consider my English perfect at all, I'm sure you'd find some errors if you really went looking for them in my posts. I've been slowly taught the language since I was 6 though (like any Italian of my generation), so I'd surely hope I'd be able to write some simple posts about football by now. Writing also gives me more time to compose sentences compared to speaking, which I'm not that good at.

I don't want to derail the conversation further though.

It’s just a massive sense of humour failure I think

You are all very naughty. Last time I posted on this thread, I’d left it a land of happy positivity. I pop back to check and find it’s one massive mud slinging contest.

Sod this for a lark. I’m off to count up to 500,000. At least that thread never gets aggy.

Don't think I've read anything negative about the guy, anywhere..?
This, an odd comment from the poster you quoted. All I’ve read about RDZ from fans from other clubs is Brighton get it right every time, can we steal RDZ, Chelsea fans ‘ we got the wrong Brighton coach ‘

Sorry swanny but that Sepulveda guy does sound exactly like you. The syntax and style of writing is just too similar. Maybe Sepulveda can give us his/her rough location and the IP address can be checked Vs that rather than some random italian VPN.

He's actually Potter in disguise and I'm RDZ, I pretend not to have a good grasp of English in public so I always have the excuse of not understanding. Takes big balls to do, no? Now that I think about it your syntax style is also suspiciously like ours, I wonder if it's just a feature of some language we're all writing in. If mods want info I'll answer them, otherwise I'm gonna go on with my life here and assume you're all the same English guy in Brighton writing under thousands different aliases.

I think your written English is lovely Sepulveda, and great insights too. The Swansman makes some good points, and also likes to wind-up certain other contributors: it’s all very entertaining, but I hope you didn’t feel caught in the crossfire. Don’t be a stranger. I, for one, want NSC to gain more international contributors as the Albion becomes a club with a more global profile.

By the way, De Zerbi was interviewed on an Italian football program on the 30th of January, there's some bits of it that have become popular on youtube - this one in particular. I'll translate it for you:

[heavy Brescian accent activates]

"[talking about the differences in mentality between PL and Serie A players] Now I'll tell you an anecdote; we went to play with Manchester City, and I decided to go man-to-man in the defensive phase, and during the week I asked the captain if he was ok with going man-to-man with Haaland, and he started laughing and told me 'No problem, coach', and so I was thinking 'What would have happened in Italy if I'd asked someone to go man-to-man with Haaland?', because they're often less worried here in England, so they're mentally more free, and this is an advantage - and not a small one."

Thanks for translating, interesting!

Assuming that you are in fact, not Swansman, (firmly tongue in cheek) you speak fantastic English. I lived in Milan for a while and have known many Italians over the years including some who had been working professionally in London for decades. None spoke English as well or as nuanced as you seem to.

And even at the height of my abilities to speak Italian it was only ever a minute fraction as good.

So kudos for that! (This is where you turn around and tell me that you’re American but have an Italian grandad or something, so therefore are also purebred Italian…)

Also the diffusion of Juve fans across Italy always shocks me - very Man U-esque. I remember I was in a village in the Gargano one year when Juve won the title and you fuckers kept me up all night driving around town honking horns and chanting!

An Italian using a Spanish name? It's Andreas Orlandi, isn't it? :ROFLMAO:

A few things.

1) If you think mods don't do regular IP checks you're wrong. We do. It's easier on the new board software.
2) It's just as likely that the syntax is down to English as a second language and the profusion of different English styles on social media allowing for some slang to be understood and some Americanisms to be used. Nevertheless........
3)....people with second accounts, even those gaming the system with a vpn, always screw up eventually. Always. And...
4) speaking as both a mod and a user of / writer on this board I've found the posts in response to Sepulveda profoundly disappointing and depressing. I'm self aware enough to know that censuring Swansman is for the others to decide, because of our history, but I'm also moderator enough to notice when a thread is being pointlessly derailed. So, let's keep this one to RDZ please.

Sorry - just seen this thread and the accusations thrown around.

It's tedious, but I manually check as much as I can on each new account registration trying to keep out spammers, bots, trolls and obvious duplicate accounts that may be re-registering to get up to no good.

There was nothing about @Sepulveda's registration to cause me any concern, which is why I activated the account. All access to the site has come from an IP address in Northern Italy and, whilst this is not conclusive proof, it's good enough for me.

So, can we please drop that particular part of the debate, take @Sepulveda in good faith and keep things on topic.

You techie guys with your techie solutions, I'll solve this once and for all with one simple question:

Hey @Sepulveda do you like pizza?

Well, it's unsurprisingly been established you're not Swanny. But you do have a lot in common in that you both seem to have a good knowledge of football, a better command of the English language than many on here, and willingness to argue your point and not be intimidated. Which is great. Just be aware there will always be a minority group of posters who will be forever snapping at your heels because they are intimidated by the aforementioned qualities, so don't let that get you down. Meanwhile, I'll be accused by same posters of belonging to some kind of sad Sepulveda cult. It's just the way it is, welcome to NSC, and enjoy the debate!
