Is qualifying for this a Godsend or a poison chalice ?
Looking at the clubs who have recently been in Europe, I wonder if it's worth the effort.
I give you West Ham, Leicester and Burnley.........look where they are now.....
Equally look at where Liverpool, Spurs, Man U and Arsenal are now.

For you maybe ............but I don't think finishing 8th. works for qualification into the Conference?
If we win the FA cup our league position doesn’t matter (unless we also finish top 4)

Winning the FA Cup wouldn't get us into the Conference either.........................

......................................It would be straight into the Europa League.

Other benefit of qualifying for Europe would mean that we might get to keep a player for another year who might otherwise be offski. The Conference? Mabe not so much ...................
Agree not so much........ but still, Roma and Jose didnt look too disappointed winning it last season after beating Feyenoord in the final.

Some of the teams in this seasons last 16 other than West Ham are Lazio, Fiorentina, Nice, Villareal, Anderlecht etc.
For fellas that were travelling to Scunthorpe, Aldershot and Hartlepool not so long ago, those oppostion all sound mouth watering and I'd fancy us against them.

Dunk lifting it with a beaming RDZ and Bloom on the pitch in some obscure european corner with thousands of Albion on tour......... Yes please, Where do I sign!

Winning The FA Cup gets us a Europa League spot. Finishing 8th is nothing more than an improvement on last season and combined with the Cup win would make this season our greatest ever.

Given the choice of 5th/6th (europa league) and falling short in the FA cup, or winning FA cup (europa league) and finishing 8th, I would take the latter on paper.

It's what I would gladly take as well and it would be the greatest Albion season ever. Grimsby will be a sell out (I bought my ticket this morning) meaning cup fever is about to become endemic in Sussex.......

De Zerbe would be off if he didn’t trust Bloom on the whole dream thing…. Tony said 10th … gotta got higher now
bloom has employed a champions league manager, selling the job to rdz with a dream in mind

If you only have 11 good players, then maybe, but our squad is brimming with talent that wants to be involved. Plus, if we did qualify we'd strengthen further.

Agree, it would be great for us and the club ...... but would it look so good to, say, Mac or Moises?

Europa League is very entertaining, usually with a lot of goals. Brighton would also be a top 5 favorite to win it, which would probably be the easiest way to win a competition (and also the easiest way to get into the Champions League, which would change everything).

Definitely adds extra pressure to the squad, but I for one would love to see us play in Europe for the first time in our history. We have to have ambitions like this and even if it was only the conference league I'd take it to just have that experience. Who knows when we'll get another chance.

We already have a large number of players on our books. Some of them just happen to be out on loan. IF we qualify for Europe we can bolster our numbers by sending less out on loan. Some of those players will already have experienced playing in European competition. David Weir has said we want to be a destination club. Europe is part of the plan, it always as been.
