Its disappointing how poorly Tolaj's loan spells have gone. He always looked excellent in U21s, I had hopes that he would be able to reach at least Championship standard, but right now it looks more likely that we'll have to cut our losses and he'll be back off to Switzerland come the end of his contract.
TBH I'd forgotten all about his loan at Cambridge! Yes, sadly there is a pattern there.

A career as a professional footballer possibly beckons - but probably not at a very high level. And yes, he did look promising in the U21s - although, TBF, he hasn't exactly been given a good run out at either of his loans. Oh well, not all our punts will come off, will they?

Since when did Sky show the goals from 3pm Saturday EFL games. Nice finish by Aaron

Despite all the Caicedo stuff, the next generation are pretty decent too.

Not a bad day for some of our EFL loanees today! In the F.A. Cup, Khadra burst into action to score after three minutes; subbed after an hour as Birmingham drew 2-2 at Blackburn. Duffy an unused sub for Fulham.
In the Championship a potential Brighton derby was thwarted by the absence of Taylor Richards from the QPR squad - but Aaron ("not-even-a-footballer") Connolly score Hull's first two in a 3-0 win.
In League 1, Rushworth kept another clean sheet, and Weir, although he didn't score, played the full 90 in Morecambe's 5-1 win over Bristol Rovers - and in League 2, Teddy Jenks scored for Crawley.

Taylor Richards absence due to the sudden death of a very close friend I believe.

A few minutes on debut for Todd Miller (Doncaster) too.
Indeed - I was called away before I could complete my earlier round-up. I could easily have been confused too, with 'Miller' playing the full 90 at CF and 'Miller' coming on for a few minutes - I take it it was young Todd with the five minute cameo, then? Finally, Marc Leonard played 80 minutes of Northampton's win at Barrow.

Good to see Jenks finally get a good run out today, I thought - and scoring. Tolaj, after a thoroughly useless loan, must surely be on his way back to Brighton though, surely?

Haydon Roberts has done well tonight at left back for Derby v West Ham. Although Derby have looked v poor and not troubled West Ham at all, surprisingly.
Talksport summariser talking him up - "thinks of himself as a CB, but playing for Derby as a LB - looks as if he'll be in the Brighton first team before too long....."

Pervis off to Chelsea for £80M in the summer then? :lolol:

On a cold Tuesday night in ...................... well, Birmingham actually!

Khadra gets a start for the blues in the FA Cup.
A bit further north Beadle is on the bench for Crewe - and Tolaj still completely invisible at Salford.
