With the income we are receiving from transfers I fully expect anyone we want to buy to have an additional premium added by all selling clubs.

The good thing about centre halfs is age isn't as much of a problem.

Maybe his selling value decreases, but he'll be good til he's 34/35. 26 is fine.

six feet beneath the moon...
saw someone post this on twitter and agree completely, this signing gives us the possibility to play two sorts of systems, lamptey and pervis starting together leaves us a little too open and signing matviyenko means either pervis can be rested and we can have lamptey getting at the opposition from the right or do what we currently do and start pervis and bring lamptey on later. it's all about options, options, options

Value has to include salary really. If he costs £20m, but his salary demands are say £2.0m per year for a 4 year contract, your outlay is £28m. We could get another player at the end of a contract, so maybe only £12m to buy them, but their salary demands are £4m per year over 4 years, total outlay is still £28m. So the transfer fee is only really relevant along side the contract value .

Not been all that impressed when I've seen him play for Ukraine but £25m isn't that much considering 25+ CL games and that he belongs to a wealthy club that are pretty far from desperate to sell anyone.
