He is. But who says it was TB's plan?

This has all the hallmarks of "he who can never be wrong".
I presume the board gave approval for this to be set up otherwise it’s even more pointless. Plus Jenny Gower heads up supporter services and this program sits with her give she’s on the minutes

Bet those that stood weren't expecting the enormity of the topics they were going to have to struggle with. (Forget Middle Eastern owners, Somewhere Over the Rainbow might see my ticket for sale)

FAB to research and come back with suggestions for alternatives to Hey Jude.
• Freed from Desire by Miss Caffeina
• Rumble in Brighton by the Stray Cats

• Praise You by Fatboy Slim
• Just Can’t Get Enough by Depeche Mode

• Don’t Stop Believing by Journey
• Ecuador by Sash!

• I gotta feeling by Black Eyed Peas
• Somewhere over the Rainbow (with Albion lyrics) by Mr Albion aka Mark Brailsford)
May as well put the music on mute if these are serious suggestions.

Good thing I didn't get elected, it would just be non stop post punk before the match.

It would seem that the FAB are still alive and there was an update in the Liverpool programme, which was rather low key (see page 14).

But it seems that the FAB now have an email address, so anything that would resonate with the wider fanbase, you can send your emails to FanAdvisoryBoard@brightonandhovealbion.com

No doubt unable to use FAB as this is exclusive to Thunderbirds.

Tony Bloom has been chairman since 2009. Paul Barber CEO since 2012. They could have introduced a Fan Advisory Board at any point in the last 10 years.

Wonder why it took until 2022 and even then appears to have no spine or real purpose behind it?

Because of Tracey Crouch’s review… they were merely trying to look proactive

I think its all smoke and mirrors and a box ticking exercise, I'm glad I didn't get elected in hindsight as a) I probably would be watching Penistone Church v Hemsworth Miners Welfare instead of attending meetings and b) I said I'd cave my my friends head in on twitter the other day because he didn't like Black Pudding and the club wouldn't necessarily find that funny. I hope it does good though in the long run, but the lack of a youthful candidate was disappointing, as it would have been nice to get a view from that age group.

IMO BISA should have carried on as the main vehicle for fan/club contact - it had the credibility - with a new generation taking over. Sadly nobody wanted to take it on, and we old guard had done our bit: I for one was completely exhausted :) I can tell you that PB would have very much welcomed its continued existence when he came to the club, and would be happy to be dealing with it now: he told me so. It is a shame that our collective achievement didn't leave a legacy fan organisation to take things forward, and that the club had to try and create something, but there you go.

Agreed. And the current members of the FAB are doing their bit. If anyone in this thread wants to either argue that PB /TB has set it up in bad faith OR that the members (anbd how they were voted in) are remote from what fans care about then fine. Fair enough. But The answer is obvious. Organise, get a platform and push to change things.
The club at the very least have shown themselves prepared to listen to fans and open to hearing from them.

… so I find the criticism of the FAB reps in this thread or it’s very existence a bit unfair/moot.

I have no issues with how the club is run now. However it is obvious to me that the FAB was created as a way of trying to avoid any suggestion of having a fan on the main board who would have a much more central role in safeguarding the interests of supporters. Let's see what the Crouch review has to say.

I’m not criticising the people who are genuinely committed to this. Not at all. I’m just saying there have been no meetings for nigh on 4 months, and in the two meetings that preceded that, what was achieved and agreed was the square root of feck all.

Same here. That said, I‘m a white bald middle-aged male who football is primarily aimed at. I can see value in the club engaging with other communities e.g. disabled supporters, female, LGBT which might have more pressing issues than bottle-tops.

Again no issues how club is run. However if we do have a FAB I would like supporters to have notification of when meetings taking place so any questions/suggestions can be put forward if FAB members feel it warrants

I'm afraid this was all too predictable. The Club were only ever going to use it to rubber stamp anything they wanted to do anyway with "after consulting with FAB we have decided..." and not do anything they didn't want to do. What's the point?
