The Goldstone was sold in '95, we were angry renters in '97 when the last game was played.... it’s not just the fans believing De Zerbi is getting us to places we have only distantly dreamed about since loosing the Goldstone in 1997.
We sold the ground in ‘95 but we had the ground for 2 more years up until we played our last game in 1997. I know history is important but I didn‘t write anything that was untrue lol - in 1997 when we actually became homeless, no one could have imagined some 25 years later we would have WC players saying they wanted to try and help Brighton get into Europe - pedantry doesn’t change that but thank you for responding to my comment when no one else did - it’s appreciated

Caught cold after the WC, whilst Charlton had 10 not very good but highly athletic players who spent 120 minutes hectoring us. These things happen. No need for the insult, the guy shat on us big time, no matter how you dress it up. He was good for us, yes, but he sure tainted that in a hurry.
Remember all those games under Potter when we played really well for 45 minutes, didn't score but should have and were then found out in the second half? There were tons of them.
I try to forget, incredibly long spells over the three full seasons of rocking up at the Amex, fearing another non-scoring non-win and not being disappointed. You only truly feel that if you take 4 hours out in the cold to be there.
