Finally had a post delivery, not there and not at the sorting office in Burgess Hill. Proper shambles from someone, I guess BHA are a bit more professional than to pin the blame on Charlton only sending us the tickets late.
Well it was a lot of tickets Charlton had to print.
Problem is now they have just a few hours to print off 3,500

I’ve been to a few Worthing away games. Tickets are bought directly from the away clubs website and you can select an ‘away’ ticket - not that there is segregation. I guess they just like to get an idea of how many away fans might attend … although you can still just turn up and POTG of course.

Generally you get an email with a QR code to scan at the turnstile which you can either print off or show the email on your phone, which is what I do.

I’m not sure that currently happens in the Football League.
Same at Lewes. There's a guy on the gate who reads the QR code on a phone (we normally have player comps, same system). It really can't be that difficult.

I use the comps at Lewes too…….they completely transferable though, only need a screenshot of the QR code.

Thanks, that seems to have worked. I found earlier instruction on website misleading.
‘Please note that you need to have the transaction number (not fan number) to complete a ticket reprint request, this can be found on the Tickets section of your ticketing account.’
Transaction number? Eh...

I used 3 fan numbers and it worked. Club have confirmed this is OK via seperate email.

I'm convinced the sheer numbers are going to cause chaos tonight, I hope I'm wrong. Each cashier will struggle to issue more than 100 sets of tickets an hour, do the maths

I agree developing a QR code or similar for a one off game just isn't going to happen. But maybe it's a learning lesson that something should be developed for away/cup games rather than relying on post for paper tickets. And when I say develop ... I mean just adopt a process that's already out there. Like I said in an earlier post, I get an e-ticket for Worthing games.

don't we still give paper tickets to away fans

It really ain't rocket science especially with the prevelance of smart phones and software on the market. Guess more of a Charlton problem
I will be getting in with a qr code this evening. I don’t know why only home fans can do this, but presumably there is a good reason.

Same for us at home……..whether ST or single game purchase. Club charge extra if a non-ST holder wants a paper ticket.

Although most gigs and theatres these days are etickets. You never know football may catch up one day.
True.. the trouble with etickets from clubs point of view may be that they can be sold on via legitimate resale sites with original pdf attached.
Not sure that's something our and other clubs want to give opportunity for. Or passed on.

If you put in the transaction number when requesting a reprint (at the second screen) it automatically requests a reprint for all the tickets in that transaction (as they’d have been posted together) so only need to put 1 ticket in your basket. You can get the transaction number easily by logging into your ticketing account and going to the tickets tab.

We do ... my comment was aimed at ALL clubs, including Brighton to make things simpler for away games (and home cup games).

Mind you, Brighton don't have home cup games!! ;)

Having to rely on bits of paper coming through the postal system in 2022 is nuts!
