[Football] Ben White

BW definitely comes across as a bit of an introvert and his own man; the squad is (inevitably) made up of all personality types. You look at some of the WAGs as well and think some of them must dread having to spend time with the other wives/girlfriends, especially on a campus style set up where you’re probably encouraged to all bond and ‘get along.’
His best mate Kelvin Phillips was in the squad with him.

This is all speculation and media hype.

Still in Brighton
White never struck me as a prima dona perhaps he is so "disinterested" in football he didn't watch the other games with der lads, didn't even know who we were playing next and was playing solo games of Jet Set Willy in his room instead of joining in with endless games of Fifa on the PS5 in the common room. Ostracised himself.

As I said before, I highly doubt it. He was best mates with Phillips at Leeds and has been on holiday with Grealish.

Interesting that he apparently didn’t know enough about the USA team and tactics. Didn’t he once say he had no interest in football other than playing and never watched games? Or did I just make that up?

The context is that he was (supposedly) provided clips on the USA team to watch and didn't. Not that he was supposed to already know stuff about them.

However, the story stinks of bullshit anyway.

Didn't BZ say something similar? Along the lines of him having no interest in football other than playing.

Yup - he did

Can't say I blame him. How many other people would want to spend their free time watching somebody else doing the same job as them? I know I wouldn't.

😴

He possibly raised the question of why he wasn't getting any game time considering he is playing a vital part of the defence for the side sitting top of the league. Missing out on a space to a guy who hasn't played since Gross beat him for pace back in August and a sub appearance from Dier ahead of him

This bit is probably relevant as well "the defender turned up to a team meeting prior to the 0-0 draw with the USA not knowing some key information over his own personal stats". Not sure what homework they are meant to do about themselves?

It's such a specific reason that it does lead me to be less immediate with my "it's rubbish" response to newspaper gossip.

When a player has been sent home in a way which could be interpreted as something personal(due to the wording of the statement), for a paper to then come out with this and potentially face serious issues if BW really did have something major going on in his personal life, it does make me feel more open to asking "why would they risk printing this and with such specific points re the individuals involved and the problems caused".

Anyone come out and denied it yet?

That's all i'll say on it. May still be rubbish but all very odd.

Question who leaked the info? I'm guessing it wasn't from the BW camp so presumably someone in the England camp did.
May be that person should do us all a favour and leak the truth about the Sterling burglary nonsense which does not add up?:)

If it was true wouldn't you send the coach home too?

BW probably decided to take a plane instead - much quicker than the coach :lolol:

This. About time someone stood up to that wanker who picks players on form.

Not the only one, Reece James publicly said he "couldn't speak or he's in trouble" about the terrible exclusion of Ivan Toney.
Yeah. We've really lacked goals without Toney. He's clueless....
