Have been cheering Canada on but just remembered I have Belgium in the work sweepstakes.

Is it crazy to suggest that John Herdman might be the coach to replace Southgate once he moves on? Finished top in qualifying and his Canadian team are all over Belgium?

Canada playing some lovely stuff here.
Early days. Think they could end up paying the price for almost always taking that extra touch or two in or near the penalty area. It's one of those games where 'one shot, one goal' (for Belgium) could swing the game - Canada are playing at their peak level, I think - can they go up another gear, or even sustain this level, if they fall behind? I have my doubts.

Doing commendably well so far though - credit where it's due.

Unless they go to a quarter final or something I don't think it is likely (not saying it would be wrong though).

Belgium look shocking here, not sure why that second penalty incident wasn’t looked at… trod on his boot clearly

No consistency from these VAR clowns

If Belgium can't abuse the oceans of space Canada are giving them, they'll struggle, to say the least, to break down better teams.

Impressed by Hutchinson. When I saw him play for Helsingborg like 20 years ago I wouldn't have imagined him, or Canada at all, playing in the World Cup in 2022.
