Everything around Potter's move has been particularly galling. I think very few would have begrudged Potter a move to Chelsea in the summer on the understanding that he'd build something new there and leave us to go on without him with the club (structurally) as it was when he arrived.

From Naylor's consistent and immovable defence of Potter (including crediting him for the draw at Anfield) to the consistent threats of gutting the club of all playing staff (whether it is Winstanley or Trossard or whoever) it has been dreadful. Many online saying time to move on and thank him for the work he did here. Sorry, but how can we move on whilst Chelsea very quickly and consistently asset strip us? Potter has arguably come into the structure built up over almost a decade and seen how good it is and decided to take it with him. It's hawk-like capitalism at its worst and for that reason I'll be booing on Saturday.

I'd hope we can practically ignore it. Nothing but fuel to Chelsea and their fans with us showing how emotional and annoyed we are by it -they will lap it up.

Far better to crack on as if nothing has happened, completely ignore, concentrate on lauding RDZ and our own players.

Ambivalence is a far greater weapon than showing how hurt you are. Get behind and concentrate on the Albion, forget what is going on with the opposition and what they've done.
This is probably the sensible answer but I think some people’s emotions will be too heightened to think like that, especially after a few pints.

In an ideal world we win the game and people can vent their emotions through celebrating/piss-taking, “You should’ve stayed at a big club,” etc.

The chances of that are very slim given that Potter knows our team inside out.

Hey Potter, what's it like to buy success now rather than earn it?
Hmmm ? A good proposition of Chelsea’s team is at least their academy right. Probably similar to us 🤷🏻‍♂️

I feel very conflicted about this.

I would like to see Potter do well at Chelsea, but not at our expense. Trying to get Winstanley is one thing, but at least they are doing it in the right way. It is still galling, though.

Coming back for players is different. depending on contract situations and so on, at least we can tell them to do one if we want to - viz Ashworth going to Newcastle only after being on gardening leave. And if they do take any players, they will pay what we want them to pay.

Was going to clap him but after them going after Winstanley too might just ignore them. Obviously enough people will boo to make it a hostile reception

Don't get me wrong I despise Chelsea for what they've done it's all a bit tinpot, just raiding another clubs staff and players because they have money to burn,it is tinpot they've basically not bothered recruiting using there own skillset just lazily gone and purchased what they deemed to be the best on the market.

This we all know and I'm over Potter and have no feelings for him either way, he's not a part of my club but when he was he did get us to play the best football I've ever seen us play, that's undeniable,I do take your point that it was a team effort.

Actually the one thing that annoys me the most in all of what's happened is the clubs willingness to let our staff be approached and tempted away so easily, it's getting a bit ridiculous now and yes we're a business at the end of the day but there's only so much a club can lose without it starting to rot at the very foundations we've laid in the last decade.

Although I'm firmly in the BOO camp, I hope also we get behind our boys with a ROUSING 'We are Brighton' after the booing.

Then once that's done, a sprinkle more boos and a long rendition of F### off Chelsea F### off Chelsea.

The "Clap him for what he did brigade" are the types who'd make the bloke whose having an affair with your wife a cup of tea and a bacon sarnie if you caught him in your house.. It's football, it should be a hostile booing and an atmosphere to get our players up and intimidate the Chelsea lot. Besides which, booing bothered him whilst he was here, if it gets under GP's skin so much the better.

Clapping is for Twickenham with Piers and Rupert.

Make it as hostile as possible, this includes the club, the music played, everything.

I haven't made my mind up yet whether to boo or ignore. But if Potter does get booed, it will be a visceral, emotional reaction, the reaction of passionate football supporters. Not a hate crime.

We'd feel differently if we were family members, or his financial advisers, or disinterested pundits looking for "the bigger picture". But we're not. We're supporters of Brighton and we're not very pleased with him.

Exactly if we stand there clapping like brainwashed seals they would most probably politely take the three points and go home. Look what happened to Norwich in the championship they collapsed in front of a hostile atmosphere we can do it.

Interesting point about the music. What do we reckon for a Graham Potter-themed playlist?

"Money Money Money" by Abba
"For The Love Of Money" by The O'Jays
"Can't Buy Me Love" by The Beatles
"Price Tag" by Jessie J
