[Other Sport] 2026 Commonwealth Games saved

Can’t disagree with many of the arguments against keeping the Games. But if they are to continue Bowls should be one of the sports retained as one of the few where people can continue to compete at the highest level well into their twilight years. Mind you, Brighton Council may have a different...

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

"To better protect animals and their habitats Green MPs will push for: The creation a new Commission on Animal Protection. A ban on all blood sports, including trail hunting"

[Albion] If you could go back in time and attend ANY BHAFC fixture, which one would you choose?

You didn’t need a ticket Crispy. It was queue and pay at the turnstiles. Hence, absolutely rammed. Great atmosphere but if memory serves me right, poor game with 1-1 draw saw us promoted and Rochdale avoid relegation

    [Other Sport] Bowls wanted

Took up bowls 4 or 5 years ago and now hooked. Easy game to learn but harder than it looks to master. Very sociable activity and helped me rebuild social life after relationship breakdown. Now a Director of Preston Bowls Club. We are an indoor and outdoor club on London Road opposite Preston...

Cyclists - Toughest Hills of Brighton?

Having just moved back to Bramble Rise at the top of Copse Hill after 30 years away, I heartily contour. 5 minute stroll down to the local shop for a pint of milk but half an hour's acclimatisation half way home before tackling the summit

    [Albion] Favourite Albion-related commentary

"And the ball is in the 'relatively' safe hands of Perry Digweed" - 1983 Liverpool away FA Cup. Radio commentary, possibly Peter Jones (?)

Equal rights for old English people! (Non Londoners)

Some of us unfortunately are stuck here. So using my new pass for the first time when I hit 60 on Friday will do little to ease that pain :(

Doesn't look good for the terrorist Mandela

Apart from the fairly basic point that other 'freedom fighters' had political representation and the vote denied to the overwhelming majority of South Africans. 'So Mr Adams, you don't like the fact that there appears to be discrimination in the Council's housing policy. Tell you what, stand...

Doesn't look good for the terrorist Mandela

The man is 94 years old, dying and not responsible for the actions of those now in power. Rather, the actions of some of those now in power provides further evidence for just how great he was. Very few if any of us would have had the courage and wisdom to forgive and work with our oppressors in...
