Upson seemed to keep calling Lamptey 'Lafferty' though which was annoying. I thought Hughton was very respectful and professional in the studio. Wouldn't expect anything less from him to be fair. He's an absolute gentleman.
I'm still kicking around. I wouldn't say I've completely given up running, but I've transitioned to becoming a bit of a gym shark. I'm still doing parkrun regularly though, and... (my former self would shudder at the thought) do a treadmill run once or twice during the week :ffsparr:
Been absent for a while from this thread but after picking up an achilles injury training for a sub 3hr marathon earlier on in the year, my focus became recovering from that and then just enjoying the Melbourne marathon later on in the year. Ended up running a 3:21:11 at Melbourne marathon...
Thanks mate. The injury set back could well have helped me out. It certainly changed my focus from intense marathon training to taking the pressure off with training and enjoying my running again more generally (once I'd recovered). I'm lucky to have only really been out of action for 2-3 weeks...
My "easy" long run pace has been 4:55 - 5:00/km. Really to just get time on my feet.
For the progression long runs I'll start at that easy pace, progress to marathon pace (4:15/km), and then hit sub 4:00/km for the last 5k.
I'm thinking I might do a 32km run all at marathon pace in the lead up...
Haha it's a nice and small one - although that's not uncommon here. Most weeks we only get about 35-40 people there. Very different to the massive turnouts at parkrun's in the UK!
As long as the watch is compatible with Strava it will be the exact same interface for whatever watch you get. Strava is just a software that basically presents the data that is stored on your watch in a slightly different way on a social platform so that other people can see it (if you choose)...
I decided at the beginning of the year to start training for a sub 3 hour marathon; I'm five weeks in now and it still seems achievable. It's been fun building up the mileage and alternating between easy pace long runs and long runs that start easy pace, progress to marathon pace for a majority...
This is one of the first games this season where even my optimism has been reigned in; 3-1 loss for me. At least against the other "big" teams we started confidently and kept our shape. Even against Liverpool we started off that way, until their attacking prowess had heads dropping. Now with a...
They seem to throw their bodies in the way of oncoming shots in every game. If someone's able to put together a compilation video of all the times Dunk and Duffy put their bodies on the line to block a shot, that would look incredible. Absolute warriors. It's in stark contrast to some players in...
Ah unfortunately I'm the same age as when I set my previous PB so age grade is the same. I'll just have to try and knock a few seconds off my time!
Yeah I've had a few 1st place parkrun finishes (including this week's one). It really depends week to week how deep the field is, and whether any...
