Have you considered the 6am flight from Manchester to Beziers (£20) then train to Marseille? I’m northern based (Morecambe), really 50/50 on this, it’s just getting back I’m trying to get my head round…..

Would be a hellish long day but there’s a 05:55 Manchester-Beziers flight which is about a 2 hour train journey away. Then fly back from MRS. Will prob wait to see if I’ve got a chance of tickets before making my mind up on the ‘gamble’ home…..

We’ve stayed the at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof Ibis which you don’t even need to exit the station for. As a base I couldn’t recommend it enough, perfect for flying into Düsseldorf and a great hub for the whole of the region. Just looked on booking.com and it’s £61/night for a twin/double room...
