Lots of people saying we need to get Connolly out, and i agree a loan would suit both parties, but it doesn't seem Potter is remotely thinking that does it?

I agree

Adding to your list, I now think that Andone & Zeqiri could be vulnerable to loan-outs or a sale (for the latter only) if we get a new striker or two along with Cucurella.

I can't see Andone, Zeqiri, or for that matter Connolly going anywhere yet awhile, Welbeck is currently injured, we aren't sure how long for, and seemingly there is no new incoming striker imminent. It's all hands to the pump up front at the moment.

The Tau transfer seems to be dragging. Maybe not clear cut.

Interesting to read Naylor saying that Potter regards Moder as emergency pick centre back.

Which to me means Băluţa is totally out of the reckoning and on his way.

3 inches taller than White or Veltman so he has the height I guess.

But you must be right, that all but confirms the lesser spotted Băluță is probably a goner.

Height isn't everything for a centre back, but l agree that it helps!

I feel a bit sorry for Tudor Baluta, central defence is probably our strongest area of our side, and it has proved nigh on impossible for him to break into the first team squad.

Has been at the club for a couple of years or so, and at 22 maybe he should be playing more regularly somewhere else to help his career.

Actually Baluta is more of a defensive midfielder...

not that it helps him competition wise.

"Lesser spooted" is probably quite apposite for Baluta. He hardly ever gets mentioned - it's almost like he's the invisible man of Brighton. Certainly very easy for most fans to complaete forget he's our player - wherever he is!
Don't think he featured at all in any of our pre-season games, did he? I wonder what the plan for him is - as speculated on this tread, surely it'll bbe a sale for him.

He did the Olympics but you’d have expected to see him back like Mac Allister.

There was an article on the club website pre-Olympics but focusing on his international career but other than that, nothing.

What has he done to earn your sympathy?
He hasn't played much football here or on loan

Sympathy - why not? He signed for a PL team, but doesn't seem to be any nearer the PL than he was when he signed. He's trotted off to wherever we've sent him and done his best, but his future looks a little uncertain, and £100K a week a distant dream.
Maybe, just maybe, the lad's a tad disappointed?

I think l would sympathise with almost anyone, who possibly hasn't been given a fair crack of the whip to prove wehat he can do. He must have been on very excited kid when he signed for the Albion, a dream come true possibly. Does he feel that way now? no almost certainly not.

Ryan - Sold to Real Sociedad
Walton - Year extension but soon to be sold?
Clarke - loaned to West Brom
Duffy - Nazareth stays.
White - Sold to Arsenal £50m+ TBC
Kazukolovas - Released. Free agent.
Yapi - Sold to Vitesse
Karbovnik - Didn’t make the bench for Watford - loan if Cucu signs?
Østigård - Loaned to Stoke. Extra year on contract.
Bernardo - Sold to Red Bull Salzburg
Băluță - Does this player actually exist?
Molumby - Not training with 1st team, loan/sale coming soon?
Caicedo - Will he get any meaningful game time in the 1st team? Possible loan?
Alzate - Fallen behind Mwepu & Moder amongst others, loan or sale?
Bissouma - Would need a £50m+ offer to leave. Unlikely now.
Pröpper - Sold to PSV
Richards - Promotion to the 1st team.
Tau - Will be sold to Al Ahly when the Egyptian window opens.
Jahanbakhsh - Sold to Feyenoord
Andone - Loan (to buy hopefully) to Cadiz
Izquierdo - Released. Free agent.
Locadia - Contract to be terminated soon?
Gwargis - Sold to Malmö FF
Connolly - 1st team regular.
Gyökeres - Sent to Coventry
Mlakar- Split to Split
Arce - Loan extended with Quito to Dec 21
Zeqiri - Rarely gets an opportunity. Seems not to be trusted up front. Would a loan help his development?

Just 9 players need their future for next season confirmed now. There might be more loan outs for U23s.

Not so sure about that one. If Cucurella + new strikers comes in it means both of his two roles got increased competition and it would be very difficult for him to get any sort of playing time. Personally I think Zeqiri is going on loan somewhere.

Thanks for this. That's some clear out we've achieved this summer. Agree with everything apart from the fact that you underestimate Alzate. Quality player and versatile. I think he'll contribute well this season.

van Hecke is now linked with a loan move to Blackburn alongside Khadra.

That'll be interesting. Good moves by the club if they come off. I am still wondering if our 'special relationship' with Hibs will result in a last minute loan for another of our youngsters.
