[Albion] Don’t be sad about Ben going. A reminder of just how good Webster is.

Ben was great making the recovery tackles but needed someone alongside him who can head the ball. Hopefully we can replace his ability

Not sure how having a player that was already playing alongside Ben makes it better that White is leaving.

Disappointed not sad…will become a very good player…didn’t become ‘attached’ to him as I only saw him in the flesh a few times….thought he might have gone to a club that would win things though

Webster performed even better for us last season then Ben. Some of his close control and runs in this video are utterly majestic.

I couldn’t find the stat to hand, but also I read something like he has the most successful dribbles of a defender in Europe.

Just something to cheer you up. Arsenal signed our 3rd best CB a for £50+m. Never forget that.

4th best. Veltman is comfortably better

Hard to feel sad about losing a player that most of us never saw in the flesh in the first place.

I saw him (Citeh).

Ahem.

He was overrated.

I thank you.

That Webster montage is epic. Can't wait for the season to start :rave::rave::rave:

Not a penny going to Southampton.
Not a penny going to The Leeds Utd.

Money going to Newport and Peterborough for aiding his development.

£50m going to Unckie Tony.

The Carlsberg of transfer deals - tears of sadness

F*** off they're tears of joy!

Is that the case ? Happy if it is.

Great deal, he covered for big Shane while he was away. We're still in the Premier league and £50m up. Happy days.

We will miss him . You tend to miss player of the seasons ( however strange that vote was )

Webster is capable. Still was guilty of stupid mistakes giving ball away but if he cuts that out then very solid player on our books

Loved Ben White but he too was capable of stupid mistakes - viz keeping the ball in play which led to Benteke’s last minute winner for the South London Shower.

Adam Webster is a class act.

PS - and I wrote that before watching the video - :albion2::bowdown:

Yep, because he was under 21 (?) when he played from them, so they developed him.
Nothing for The Leeds as he was over the age deemed improvable.

I think Southampton get a bit actually. I read the rules on training compensation last week and it’s not even that clear if Newport and Peterborough would get anything as he’d already signed a pro contract with Brighton when he went on loan to them. The important thing is that Leeds get £0.

I thought Southampton on got their beaks wet if the Albion sold him abroad*.

*I have no idea, just the shite you read.
