Dont know what you are getting at.
My first comment was that when one of our group cant go we give to someone that could not afford a ticket and sometimes have to persuade someone . The other comment was that I met several at a cup game who were keen on Albion but were only there because they could afford discounted tickets.
All I was trying to emphasis was many out there that cant afford a ticket and if they accept a free ticket on offer from a contact I think it is harsh to call them freeloaders etc. Dont worry there wont be anymore freeloaders attending

Just to be clear, I didn't use the term free-loaders. And I think some of my points may have been made in my post above. I guess all I am saying is that if somebody wants to go occasionally and is prepared / able to invest £28 in membership then they could actually go to multiple games a year based on that single outlay, if they have a small network of STHs that are prepared to let them use a ticket when they or one of their group can't go. If they went to 6 games it would have cost them £4.60 / game (plus whatever the STH asks for). Even if they only go to one game, you can't buy a PL ticket anywhere in the country for £28.

We may have to agree to disagree on this one though, Amexer. You do a generous thing when you can't make a game and in the past the club has turned a blind eye to it. Now they are putting it on a formal footing and I don't believe the fees they are asking are too punitive. Essentially, everything around PL football is way too expensive for what is on offer which is mostly what has driven me to watching most of my live football in L1 and L2 with just the occasional visit to the Amex when I can justify it.

I hope you and your group have a good season.

Thank you Whilst it may not suit me I will always back Bloom. I have managed to take my elderly uncle to one game a season for last 2.but no longer as not willing to pay £45 on top of ST cost for the pleasure. Would not be hard for club to do what several do and allow a transfer on production of identity for say max of 3 games a season Just a shame with many games maybe not selling out seats will be empty.

Mad thing is instead of paying £45 to take my wife to a game when friend cant go to a sold out game is For friend to let me know when it is going on ticket X and selling for say £40 and me sitting by computer and buying for about £50 Cost £10 instead of £45, Sorry about that just trying to find a way of taking my wife for one game and sit with us

Good amicable discussion here [emoji106]

I actually kind of agree with both sides. Bry is correct, we shouldn’t have been “lending” our tickets to friends and family to begin with (we’ve all done it let’s be honest)…

And I think the club realised this was going on for a while and the covid landscape forced their hand anyway in making things contactless. It’s possible they needed to have names associated to tickets as well due to the covid scenario. Obviously this is also good for the club financially as well as a lot of punters will be paying a wee bit more.

However I do partially agree with amexer. I think the 20 odd quid you have to pay on both sides is tipping over to an unreasonable amount. £20 odd quid on our ticket to share it? That’s reasonable. But then the other person has to pay twenty odd quid as well? Then you think, why don’t they just buy a match day ticket?

I think the charge on the season ticket holder is completely fine. I would personally have made the borrower pay a nominal amount. They still have to sign up so they become part of the eco system. It does slightly border on fleecing and I hate to say that.

Can’t go into too many details: All said, I will of course pay what I need to. But it’s a shame I won’t be able to hand a ticket to a casual fan anymore to give them an experience with out these hoops to jump through.

My brother comes over from the USA each year (pre Covid ofc) and every couple of years it aligned with a home game so we'd go and watch the game with me getting him and his Mrs getting a ticket thru the exchange.

Going to be very expensive for that one off game should they make it this year.

Good post. Of course it works at this price when the demand is strong, it falls apart when demand falls

I may be missing something, but why will it be any more expensive than previously?
