The FA have cleared this up, close the thread

View attachment 137611

The trouble is the FA is an organisation (just like the BBC) that talks a good game on racial injustice and sexism in the game and then they make a decision like getting into bed with U.K. rap stars Krept and Konan for the 2020 official England anthem. Here’s an extract from Goat Level.

“You rappers ain't up, stop telling lies
You made P's and lost it 'cause you clowns weren't penny-wise
Respect the rise, I used to sell dead draws
Now I can sell my company like a escort (**** off)
You don't believe in us, oh you hate hate?
Tell them niggas, "Stop chasing hoes, get your cake straight" (you know)
Broke niggas, keep chasing gold diggers
It's mad 'cause niggas with Rollies are the only niggas they date (levels)
Run the **** around, you were gone and like quarmy
Bust your head now your hat's red like you Kanye
We can do this your way, we can do this our way
Think your niggas wild, my niggas wilder like Deontay
Turn up to the party, jacket 3000 like I'm Andre
Mum your kid blew like Beyonce
I used to do moves like pilates
Kon' was with a MAC like Ariana Grande (hahaha)”

If you think the FA has the moral authority to preach from the pulpit about racial discrimination whilst at the same time sponsoring the likes K&K to represent the England team’s 2020 anthem you must be mad.

Very much this, the BLM riots in London and other towns and Cities have done nothing to help the cause, why the need to desecrate war memorials? Why the need to fire flare guns at police horses?
As I stated at the beginning of the thread, if players insist on kneeling to this thuggery next season, I shall not boo, I shall simply take my seat after the whole episode has passed, about 5 seconds they’re on their knees for…

I agree, you can’t unwind what’s happened in the US and here since GF was killed.

It’s all very well GS and the FA saying by taking the knee they are not political or connected to BLM, the reality on the ground is the interpretational lines on the knee were not drawn in the run up to the euros, they were drawn in May and June last year.

If the England team came out the tunnel today and did anything else as a gesture to support the broader cause against racism they would be cheered from the rafters at Wembley and across England. The fact that they are sticking their heels in just makes it look like it’s the knee or nothing. It’s madness really, the FA’s PR team should be sacked.

So really it's a matter of interpretation...

Trouble is that interpretation is broadly along political lines and people's stance on this is generally predictable.

Once again, I am sure there are hidden agendas on both sides of the divide - and for some it is the political perspective that dictates how they respond, in spite of Southgate reassuring the public that the team gesture is first, last and only about racial inequality.

For many reasons this is a deeply divided country and as far as I can see reaction to 'the knee' showcases those divisions; but I don't think it caused them.

...and this is what I mean about the hardcore minority with a hidden agenda and predictable political values.

Hello again Dog Fart,
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you. Just take your time to reflect.... and see if a chink of light can shine in your darkness.

Belfields spot on again, who do the FA think they are sending a letter trying to Silence a MP with a view they dont like ,a absolute disgrace and sums up the woke culture trying to shut down free speech

No... you're just not giving yourself enough time to reflect on your own behaviour. Take time out and come back in a week or so when you've thought it all through.

The Laura Ashley floral wallpaper gives this video a real menace to it. Frightening stuff indeed.

To be fair, the knee does get in the way of the football. I prefer to boo and slag off the players the second they enter the pitch. I know have to wait until the knee is over. It’s a small sacrifice I guess.

I know how you feel....I feel cheated of a few precious seconds of early slagging off.
I used to relish the first few seconds....pass back to Duffy.....massive hoof to the far left hand side....ball usually ending straight into touch or comfortably gathered by opposition RB, setting up immediate attack........cue...." Oh FFS....can't we think of anything different "
.....or more recently.....pass back to Webster....impressive progress 30 yards up field, followed by pass straight to opposition.....cue...." Oh..FFS...Webster....you are not Fcking Franz Beckenbauer !!! "

This is how it should be done.

https://www.skysports.com/cricket/n...ment-of-unity-in-fight-against-discrimination

The England and New Zealand players took part in a 'Moment of Unity' before the start of the first Test at Lord's to show their collective determination to fight any form of discrimination in cricket.

The players and match officials stood in silence on the outfield, facing the pavilion, with the England side in T-shirts which incorporated anti-discrimination messages on their front and back.

The wearing of the T-shirts has been driven by the England men's squad and both the men and women will wear them in warm-ups throughout the summer.

The front of the T-shirts carries the message: 'Cricket is a game for everyone'.

There are seven different designs of the shirts, each one featuring a different message on the back.

The words on the back begin 'We stand together against', before one of 'racism', 'religious intolerance', 'sexism', 'transphoboia', 'homophobia', 'ableism' or 'ageism'.

At least cricket embraces all colours and creeds as opposed to football.
There are approx 5.5m Asian British people in this country and approx 1.9m Black or Black British people. How many Asian players, managers, coaches and officials are there compared to the Black community. You talk to any young Asian and he/she will tell you of the near impossibilty of even getting started on the ladder.

If you're a big advocate of free speech why don't you respect the England teams right to freedom of expression? If you believe you should be allowed to say what you like regardless of what anyone thinks that should apply to everyone. Using your rules, The England team should be allowed to take the knee and not give a stuff what you think
