He's going to have about 10 chances to manage Spurs over his career.
If IF he really wanted the Spurs job he's unlikely to take it first time round.

As much risk as managing us. Could get the sack by Christmas by either club if disaster hit. At least at Spurs he would have been handsomely paid and had the opportunity to manage Spurs whereas if next season was a disaster with us that chance would probably dissappear forever.
Not sure hes in the frame for the Spurs job though.

No nor am I but its hardly a ' risk' taking the Spurs job is it? He may never get the opportunity again so the pay off would only be applicable if he was a failure but then again he may have the confidence to back his ability in adverse conditions.
That’s what many were saying about Benteke at Palace. Now that he is staying, I can see a top top manager joining that outfit.

Listening to spurs fans on radio phone in the majority of them(1s that called in) would rather Potter than some big name foreign manager. They seem to remember Brighton playing them off the park with limited resources compared to their so called superstars and the very fact he's had a few years of using youngsters and not afraid to play them!
