If I was a fan of theirs, selling comfortably their best player in Buendia to mid table toss like Villa who they should be looking to take points off would piss me off massively.

Clearly happy to take the PL cash for a year again and subsequent parachute payments as they appear to already have accepted relegation. Waste of a PL place.

Yes, if they had sold him mid August, however selling now gives them time to find a replacement, if they’ve not already got one lined up that is.
I’d rather have a well run Norwich in the Premier than a Bournemouth !

I don't know anything about Naaarch's finances, but they clearly run a tight shop on the PL scale, especially if its based on Delias recipes. I'd say they're cooking well above their weight. Short Yo-yo is better, than bungee, especially a 'massive' one, that snaps!

Buendia is a class act, better than Knockaert was, and by far their best chance of staying up. They’re just not going to be able to sign a comparable player. It’s a total lack of any ambition on their part. They are happy to go down.

How is £30M now worth £15M 5 years ago ? If anything covid should have killed football finances.

Also - given Brighton lost £67.2M in the same period Norwich made a £2M profit - I’m not sure we are on the right side of the argument about how other clubs are run

Because after the summer of 2017 was when football transfer prices then went mental in light of Neymar and Mbappe’s moves. Look how much the top players in the championship have gone for each season since then.

Also, despite all the talk about Covid reductions and losses, massive money will still be spent as this proves.

The thing I really don’t understand is them selling to Villa - to Chelsea or Liverpool etc - maybe acceptable, but Villa?! They are a side Norwich should have down to take points off.

Villa finished 10th, 55 points. Look a decent side and investing heavily. Definitely a more competitive team and future than Norwich will be.

And like I say we are lucky to have a very rich owner who is happy to keep investing huge sums. Not all clubs have that benefit
