You have to acknowledge that Dunk must be a contender. A superb leader, a colossus for us and he ends the season joint highest scoring defender in the Prem and our second highest scorer for the season.

Overall he’s had a good season and was outstanding February to April but if he wasn’t Lewis Dunk, club captain and legend, he wouldn’t be getting anywhere near as many votes. Was nowhere near his usual standard for the first 2/3 months and has recieved stupid 2 red cards meaning he was also suspended for 5 games this season which could have proven costly. Was poor today too.

He’s MILES behind Bissouma overall and also a fair distance behind Veltman for me. If March, Lamptey and Webster hadn’t got injured for so long, he’d probably be behind them too.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Andone's reputation suddenly grew in his absence.

Locadia for not being there? Although he couldn't have been much worse than some who played up front regularly.

Dunk again

I agree.

Bissouma has been the best player but Dunk has again been the player who would be most missed if he wasn't there.

Veltman might also be the subject of a transfer bid in the Summer from Juventus. He would be a big loss if that materialises.

.

What, like against Man City ? He's very good, but has had the occasional brain fade this season and was poor early on.

Bissouma, from Gross and Sanchez for me . all consistent and reliable but Bissoma has world class tackles and interceptions on tap, even yesterday when half the team were pissed.

I disagree. We have no one to replace Biss, who can do what he does, but we do have three other centre backs all of a similar level to Dunk who can play in his place. Overall when he has been fit, I would also say Webster has been better than Dunk this season.

This season Dunk has missed 5 games through suspension for two silly red cards - we've won 1, drew 3 and lost 1 with an even goal difference. We've lost both games Biss didn't start.

The various contenders who deserve a mention, in order

Biss
Veltman
Dunk
Sanchez
March
Lamptey
Gross
Lallana

Apologies to White and Webster.

With 10 players having good seasons no wonder we finished 5th (on xG)

... except one of them, vs Leeds.
