Nice from the front.
There has to be a better way of putting numbers on a striped shirt.

A white cotton square sewn on with a red number.

Leyton, E10.
Before kick of 6/10, after FT 9/10

Some of the finish could be better. The side stripe is messy with the blue and white but perhaps they rushed the prototype out the sweatshop to get it on the field last night.

Generally it’s good - a pleb version of the pool template this year. I like it much more than the pinstripes. That idea was good but executed terribly (IMO).

Identical to the one we had a few seasons ago isn’t it?

Regardless of whether we like the kit or not - the club have some brass neck having a new kit this year. We’ve barely kicked a ball in front of fans in this seasons shirt. All outspoken about the ESL - ‘it’s all about the fans’ says Barber, then wants the same fans to fork out another £50 for the new shirt...

Absolute liberty in my opinion.

Your argument lacks logic.

If the kit is only to be worn when watching in person, then surely nobody would ever have bought the blue shirt, so would have no objection to moving straight on to this one.

However I thought it was a nice touch to show the kit off in the final home game of the season without any fan fare or build up.

I thought it was taking the pee to do that this season, given so few fans had seen Albion play in the blue kit.

A classic performance/match is now associated with the new shirt, which is great for sales I guess.

Meanwhile, the old shirt (still on sale, at £52) is consigned to the dumper.

And what a marketing opportunity missed! With everyone buzzing at the final whistle they should have announced that old kit now on sale half price in the shop. With the euphoria they could have shifted a fair few. Now they will struggle as people will just be focussed on the new kit.

Imo the new shirt would be better with any of these options:

* A white back panel
* An all-blue or all-white back
* A less distinct back panel - maybe some stripes could encroach into it a little?

The club seems to have a strict policy of not reducing the home kit at the end of the season.

You can kind of see why. If you think it's going to be reduced in March, as many clubs do, post-Xmas sales would be terrible, leaving a very short sales window.

Glad to be back in the true Blue & White stripes, but as said don't like the back, would much prefer a different design

a galaxy far far away
Is there anyone (who isn't supposed to be working like I am) that could find some decent pics of the 5 PL era shirt and put them up as a comparison. Cheers if you can

There has to be a better way of putting numbers on a striped shirt.

Many moons ago two famous Rugby clubs, Leicester and Bristol, identified their players not with numbers but letters of the alphabet. Now if the Albion were to adopt the same strategy and the squad numbers were replaced with letters how amusing it would be if a five man wall was set up to defend a free kick. Picture players with a C, a U, an N, a T and an S in the line up - oh, alright, little things and all that! :drink:

Thank God the dalliance with the 1980s kit is over.

Good to see the stripes back, even though i also liked this season kit. Blue shorts are much better on the home kit than white & i like the style of collar on this one.
