The title is '50 funny podcasts'. As is highlighted many times a week on NSC, humour is a very personal thing, but I guess there must be something in this list that will entertain you -
https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2021/apr/05/i-almost-wet-myself-laughing-50-funny-podcasts-to-make-you-feel-much-better

I really ought to update my listening habits but I'm so 'comfortable', I think that's the right word, with what I have and have had for years, that I find it tough to change.

Distant Pod is my most recent addition and that is fudging fantastic.

I find it hard to believe anybody on here would take against it.

Mad to think this thread is approaching it's 10th birthday.

Looking forward to Listening to Nicky Forster on Undr the Cosh.
Of course I also listened to him on Football, the Albion & me.

I've just discovered undr the cosh and have listened to the last two episodes, Danny Mills and Liam Dickenson. Both very funny and will definitely be listening weekly from now on.

Highly recommended, down to earth and football without the crap veneer

listen to the Leon Knight episodes.
They still reference it, regularly, to this day.

With the prequel to The Sopranos (The Many Saints of Newark) being released later on in the year, I decided to start rewatching The Sopranos all the way back from Series 1. Been listening to The Talking Sopranos companion podcast hosted by Micheal Imperioli and Steve Schirippa. Some really great insights from both as they talk through each episode and loads of guests from the show.

The Owl and Wolf podcast (Romesh Ranganathan and Tom Davies) and Here's The Thing with Alec Baldwin are both spending time in my ears of late.

Not listened, but have added it to my library.

Like you, I listen to podcasts as an aid to sleep and this one is great. It's just a good natured, gentle cast with two mates who have a laugh and are clearly nice guys. I've liked Tom Davies for a while (though don't like King Gary), he was brilliant as the court bailiff in Judge Romesh. Sweet, sweet guys.

It's finally here (well not quite - tonight LA time, to be precise) but that's good enough for me.

The very best film podcast is finally doing one of the very best films, as of tomorrow:-

The Rewatchables do Goodfellas.

The dream team of Bill, Chris & Ryan are celebrating being together in the same studio, for the first time in over a year, by giving the fans what they want.

Had a quick look at previous pages on this thread and couldn't see anyone mention the High Performance podcast with Jake Humphrey and Damian Hughes. Some really interesting episodes mostly sport but alos business people. The Casper Schmeichel, Sean Dyche and Steve Sallis episodes are really good. Steve Sallis is from Whitehawk and was on Brightons books for a short time.

Bad People: for anyone interested in criminal psychology. This is on an accessible level though with a comedian and a criminal psychologist.

Jools and Jim's Joyride: Jools Holland and Jim Moir (Vic Reeves) have a guest each episode and talk about different forms of travel. It's more enjoyable than it sounds thanks to the good wit of the hosts.

One of the Family: Nicky Campbell and all things dogs.

Wolf & Owl: As mentioned a few posts ago, Romesh and Tom just chatting sh*t and reading emails but has a lot of very laugh out load moments.

I struggle with Wolf and Owl when they do into full Agony Aunt mode, which is really unfortunate because as you say when they are funny, holy poop they are funny.

I don't think they like it that much either but they keep it light and are generally a force for good. Incredible human beings.

'It Happened to Me' from Michael Spicer the man behind the room next door:

https://youtu.be/xk4EMBXxG5A

Each episode is an interview with someone discussing a thing that happened to them. First episode is 'I saved my vinyl collection from a house fire before my family'. Michael Spicer voices the guests, Matt Tiller interviews. They're short. I've listened to the first and rather enjoyed it.

Some fab recommendations in this thread. Memory Palace is a personal favourite: short pieces of personal history with global resonance all compellingly told. If you enjoy that then Radio Diaries is another.

I'm sure it's been mentioned by others but Top Flight Time Machine can be good, though probably a bit Marmite. Rarely mentions football but their Melchester Odyssey about Roy of the Rovers I find very funny, and the Roy Keane episodes. Via an anecdote one of the presenters told once I realised he must have been a mate of a mate of mine at Sussex Uni in the 90s. Funny how you stumble back across people.

Not sure if this counts as a podcast but it's in my podcast app - Laura Barton's Notes from a Musical Island. I love her as a writer about music and this is an old Radio 4 series exploring the musical heritage of different parts of the UK. Great stuff.
