Rearrange these words into a well known Phrase ......Burnley a club that their fans can be totally proud of considering the financial constraints they themselves within but do as well as they do although all the snotty twats miss this and carry on with their pompous total football comments............

Having said that come on Everton.

Play today, suffer later. I agree they could be very proud and happy... and also very worried because there is very little that indicates it will get any better than this.

Bouncing straight back up may or may not happen but I'm sure that it wont take long whatever manager/players, as long as TB is running the club. And I agree he probably didnt envisage the club to be in the current situation but I also think the covid pandemic probably immediatly made him understand that it could happen, and there's no doubt he knew even before that that the club could go down even if its not "part of the plan". I dont think he is happy but also not shocked/surprised.

I expect Tony and co. Have long had a plan for relegation, as it’s always a realistic possibility for a club at our stage of development.

It’s probably the reason why we’re so strong on being self sufficient, reluctant to break wage policy and why most of are signings are for the long term.

Not saying its not working, but I dont know if its a better survival strategy than any other - plenty of times these Bassett type of managers fail and go down but its easier to remember the times they didnt.

As for Hodgson in Sweden... sweet spot, I dont know. Attendances fell like 50% (from ca 10 000 to 5000) when he was around and influenced every manager to be like him. I'm sure old Halmstad and Malmö fans like him though.

What does covid have to do with us getting relegated?

If you look at the money spent and the fact that the club were transitioning from one style to another, its probably had more impact on Brighton than most of the other teams, both when it comes to selling unwanted players and signing one or two additional key names to the squad.

I get that Potter can do no wrong in your eyes but do you really think Covid has impacted us any more than the other teams in the bottom half?

Yes but they are Burnley in 2021... maybe this IS as good as it gets. I grew up having massive respect for them. They were a top side. Coates, Newton and Kindon to name a few.

So it doesn’t get any better than this Swansman.... a town smaller in population than Eastbourne, Worthing or Crawley have to mix it up and go direct sometimes......

Of course he can, everyone is doing the wrong things sometimes. Even you.

And yes, I think so (aside for the newcomers).

Fair play to Burnley tonight. At least they seem to have the ability to occasionally score more than 1 goal in a game.

Musical chairs between us, Newcastle, and Fulham. When the music stops who will it be ?

Genuinely, I’ve felt for ages that Burnley would not be part of the final showdown. Dyche simply what to do to win enough games.

[This opinion is completely independent of GP, not a comparison].

Fulham will get also results with that defence.

It’s a mini contest between Newcastle and us, imho.

Everton - Champions League? You're having a laugh.

Burnley aren't going anywhere.. It's 1 from 3.

A colossal £600m spent, an Italian lauded coach who’s won everything, yet each game it’s high balls and relentless corners to Calvert, Richarlison, Holgate and Keane. One dimensional.

..... and what did this one dimensional high balls and corners outfit do to us, remind me?

And why is that? I'm not being facetious. Just as far as I can see, all the teams would be impacted the same.

Thats not the case though, as can be seen in the transfer window of the summer. Most of the teams, with some exceptions, invested lots of money in their squad. Others have had their manager for several years building a squad according to the needs and wants of that manager. Brighton had more investement needs and obviously less money to invest (or the new striker wouldnt have been recruited from some lost & found box).
