Yes, with Golden Charter. It suits me but look into various ones for your own requirements.

My father had one and from a beneficiary’s perspective it was certainly useful and helpful; one less, but obviously important item, to worry about at a difficult time. There was also a life insurance part to the plan as well; this paid out a reasonable sum and in normal non-Corona times this could have paid for something after the funeral.

The plan was with the Co-op and as insurers and funeral directors they were superb.

I have signed up for my body to be donated for medical science , thus relieving my nearest family of the need for a funeral altogether. I detest undertakers who charge the Earth , taking advantage of the emotional situation of the bereaved.

We're planning to do that too, but I understand there is often a surplus of bodies, so not all are needed. Might need a backup plan!

When the scientists have finished, the remaining remains are given back to the family for disposal.

yes, we both have a policy with co-op. never thought about it until we had to have a funeral for our daughter and it made me realise how important it is. i would hate for our kids to be thrown in at the deep end and have to fund/organise a funeral amidst so much sorrow.

my wife's aunt had a co-op plan and all went smoothly when it needed to be used.

Note to self. Buy some popcorn in readiness for a certain poster turning up on here,

I haven't signed up yet but I have been looking into this making sure that the family are consulted and are comfortable with my wishes which are quite straight forward, I don't want a funeral service or casket instead I wish that my body is collected and taken to a crematorium for disposal I don't want any return of ashes, then at a later date friends and family can if they wish meet up for a wake.

This thread is useful reminder as I had contacted the Coop funeral service a couple of months back asking for a cost but at that time it was not a plan the Coop offered but I was told that they intended to add a very basic plan shortly, so I wil give them a call now.

Thank you Golden Charter prepaid plan is £1,795 the best price so far I have seen is £750 that's collection disposal and if wanted return of ashes the only issue is that's not a prepaid cost for that the cost increases to £1,475
